CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's and women's squash is set to compete in its penultimate regular season matchup of the season tomorrow when it travels across Boston to take on the Tufts Jumbos in Medford. The Crimson Men (8-3, 5-2 Ivy) and Women (8-1, 6-0 Ivy) will battle the Jumbos at the Tufts Squash Center on Tuesday after the program swept its weekend slate against Cornell and Columbia, picking up four wins.
HARVARD WOMEN'S SQUASH NOTEABLES
- Harvard women's squash enters the match with Tufts holding an 8-1 overall record in 2023-24.
- The Crimson swept its weekend set of matches against No. 8 Cornell (9-0 win) and No. 12 Columbia (8-1 win).
- Harvard women's squash earned its ninth consecutive Ivy League Championship outright with the victory over Columbia.
- The program is also just one win away from reaching the 500-win milestone.
- Individually, the Crimson has combined for a 70-11 record this season.
- First-year, Lucie Stefanoni, holds the only unbeaten mark, posting an 8-0 record to this point of her first collegiate season.
- Marina Stefanoni, Ella Galova, Saran Gregory-Nghiem, Serena Daniel and Brecon Welch join Lucie to lead the team with eight wins on the year.
- Tufts enters the match ranked 11th in the nation and holds a 10-4 record.
HARVARD MEN'S SQUASH NOTEABLES
- Harvard men's squash is coming off a weekend sweep of No. 6 Cornell (8-1 win) and No. 7 Columbia (6-3 win).
- The Crimson improved to 8-3 on the season and 5-2 in Ivy League play with the two results.
- Ido Burstein and Liam Rotzoll both preformed excellently over the weekend, combining for a 4-0 record to help propel the Crimson to the victories.
- Individually, Harvard has posted a 71-28 combined record on the year.
- Tate Harms leads the team with 10 wins on the year, six of which have come from the no. 4 spot on the ladder.
- Denis GIlevskiy also performed well from the five spot, taking home two victories to reach the nine-win mark this season.
- The Tufts' men's side has collected a 10-4 record in 2023-24 and is currently ranked no. 13 in the CSA standings.
UP NEXT
This will be both teams' second-to-last regular season match of 2023-24. The Crimson will have this weekend off before traveling to Philadelphia to take on the Drexel Dragons on Saturday, Feb. 17. Harvard will then make another trip down to the City of Brotherly Love to compete in the CSA National Championships at the end of the month (Feb. 29-Mar. 3).
