CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving is set to compete at the NCAA Championships in Athens, Georgia. The national meet is slated to run from Wednesday, March 20-Saturday, March 23, with the Crimson scheduled to participate the final three days of the event.
What to Know
- Representing Harvard on the national stage will be Remi Edvalson (1-meter diving, platform diving), Nina Janmyr (1-meter diving), Anya Mostek (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke) and Amy Wotovich (3-meter diving).
- Edvalson and Janmyr will be in action on Thursday with the prelims of the 1-meter diving competition scheduled for a noon start. The consolation finals are set for 5:15 p.m., with the finals in the 6 p.m. night session.
- Mostek and Wotovich begin their NCAA journey on Friday. Mostek's 100-back prelim will take place in the 10 a.m. ET session. The 3-meter prelims and consolation are slated for noon at 5:15 p.m., respectively. Both event finals will be in the 6 p.m. session.
- Saturday will feature the 200 back and platform diving. For both competitions, they will follow the same timing cadence as Friday. Each day of the Championships will air live on ESPN+.
- Harvard's four NCAA participants are the program's most since 2019, when it had five NCAA qualifiers. Last season, the Crimson sent three athletes to nationals.
- The 2024 Championships will mark the 12th straight year in which a Harvard athlete has appeared at the national meet.
- Edvalson will make her second consecutive NCAA appearance in platform diving after finishing in fourth place at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. Her score of 488.50 was the top collegiate score of her career.
- With her NCAA spot locked up on the platform, Edvalson secured an invitation to compete on the 1-meter board as a result of her eighth-place showing at the zone meet (556.05). The 1-meter NCAA appearance will mark the first of Edvalson's career.
- Janmyr is set to make her second consecutive NCAA trip after finishing in fifth (571.35) on the 1-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone meet. Last season, the 2024 Ivy League champion competed in the 1- and 3-meter events at NCAAs.
- Mostek was the first Harvard athlete to punch her ticket to Athens, earning a berth in the 100 back after posting the 33rd-best time in the country (51.25). The Ivy champion also received an invitation to swim in the 200 back with her conference-best time of 1:54.43. That performance was the 38th-fastest in Division I. Mostek will be making her first NCAA appearance of her career.
- Wotovich will perform on the national stage for the first time after finishing in fourth place (613.35) on the 3-meter board at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. The junior is one of three athletes this season serving as team captain along with seniors Kate Hazlett and Natalie Whalen.
