CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Competing at the Raleigh Relays and the Florida Relays, Harvard track & field student-athletes orchestrated strong showings at both meets down south.

FLORIDA RELAYS HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:

• On the track, the men's 4x100m team started the day on a high note, as a squad of first-year Timi Esan, senior Lance Ward, sophomore Jonas Clarke, and senior Collin Fullen earned a spot in tomorrow's final with a qualifying time of 40.38.
• In the men's 200m dash, Ward followed his contribution in the 4x100m relay by running his best time of the season in the 200m, taking 23^rd with a season-best time of 21.28.
• Junior Chloe Fair ran to a top-five finish in the women's 400m hurdles, posting her best time of the 2024 outdoor campaign en route to a fifth place finish (57.78).
• Over in the men's portion of the 400m, senior Aaron Shirley finished the race in 51.68, logging a eighth place finish. Joining Shirley in the top-10 was sophomore Ondrej Vesely, as the Starec, Czech Republic native finished in tenth after posting a time of 51.83.
• Both Crimson's men's 4x400m relay teams punched their tickets for tomorrow's finals. The first squad to cross the line was senior Gregory Lapit, senior Peter Diebold, Clarke and junior Steffan Jones, as the quartet ran a 3:10.78, a result that ranks fifth in program history.
• Harvard's second 4x400 team captured ninth place in the preliminaries, as senior Jonathan Gamarra, junior Oliver Murcko, senior Maxwell Brown, and senior Mason Rodriguez punched their ticket to the finals with a time of 3:16.23.
• The field events began with the women's hammer throw, as first-year Emilia Kolokotroni finished in sixth with a throw of 60.97m (200'0").
• The reigning NCAA Men's Weight Throw National Champion, junior Kenneth Ikeji made his 2024 outdoor season debut in Gainesville, Fla. The defending NCAA Men's Hammer Throw National Champion won the hammer throw at the Florida Relays, as his winning throw of 72.94m (239'03") is third furthest throw in the nation this year.
• The women's long jump saw junior Izzy Goudros record a fifth place finish with a leap of 6.14m (20'1.75").
• Senior Jaeschel Acheampong earned a spot on the podium in the men's long jump, finishing in third with a jump of 7.36m (24'1.75").

RALEIGH RELAYS HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:

• The second day of the Raleigh Relays began with the women's 1500m run, as junior Marianne Mihas finished in 86^th (4:32.09) while junior Ellaney Matarese took 88^th (4:32.19).
• In the invitational portion of the women's 10,000m run, junior Ella Gilson set a new personal record in the event, taking 19^th with a time that ranks eighth in school history (33:21.08).

Harvard concludes its time at the Raleigh Relays and Florida Relays tomorrow, as the Crimson will also compete at the Riverhawk Invite in Lowell, Mass. as well.
