CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 12 Harvard men's tennis will continue its journey to an Ivy title this weekend as it faces No. 72 Yale at home before heading to Brown. Action will kick off on Friday, April 5 at 3:00 p.m. in Cambridge, Mass followed by a 1:00 p.m. first serve in Providence, RI on Sunday, April 7.
What to Know
- The Crimson currently stand at 15-5 overall and 1-0 in conference play, having won eight of its last nine matches.
- Last weekend in a Saturday double-header against Dartmouth and Tufts the Crimson did not drop a singles match en route to a 2-0 day and its first Ivy win of the season.
- In the most recent ITA Men's Division I Team Rankings, the Crimson checked in at No. 12 in the nation. Harvard has not fallen out of the top-15 since reentering it on February 8, 2023.
- Three Crimson players checked in on the singles poll this week, led by Cooper Williams ranking No. 11 and followed by Henry von der Schulenburg at No. 77 and Daniel Milavsky reentering the rankings at No. 121. The duo of Milavsky and Williams also moved back into the top-10 of the doubles rankings, sitting at No. 10 in the nation.
- Milavsky is having a strong junior campaign while leading the team in both singles and doubles victories. The junior is 16-6 overall and a dominant 12-3 in dual action while playing primarily at the No. 3 singles spot. While mostly teaming up with Williams in doubles action, Milavsky has racked up an overall record of 23-9 in 2023-24.
- Five other Crimson players have eclipsed double digit singles victories in Williams and Melchior Delloye with 13, David Lins with 11, and Valdemar Pape and Masato Perera each with 10.
- The Crimson hold a strong advantage in the all-time series over the Bulldogs, currently leading 75-26. Harvard will also look to extend its winning streak to 24 as it has not fallen to the Ivy foe since 2002.
- Harvard is currently 87-7 all-time against Brown and will look to extend its win streak over the Bears to 13.
