CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's tennis picked up its second win of Ivy play this evening by downing No. 72 Yale, 5-2, inside the Murr Center.
How it Happened
The Crimson opened up play by grabbing the doubles point after wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions. Teaming up for just the fourth time this season,
Daniel Milavsky and
David Lins cruised to a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 spot before
Masato Perera and
Alan Yim downed Roee Benya and Jim Ji, 6-4, to secure the doubles point.
Moving into singles,
Masato Perera quickly moved the Crimson lead to 2-0 with identical 6-2 sets at the No. 6 spot.
Ronan Jachuck then got Harvard within a point of clinching by downing Eric Li, 6-1, 6-3, at the No. 3 position.
Yale got on the board with a win at the No. 2 spot but
Henry von der Schulenburg ultimately clinched the match with a straight set victory over Vignesh Gogineni (Yale) with two matches outstanding.
Melchior Delloye secured the final Crimson win of the day by downing Jim Ji in a third set tiebreaker to finalize the match at 5-2 in favor of Harvard.
