CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After posting stellar results at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, a trio of Crimson student-athletes competed in international meets in Canada and Hungary.
After winning the NCAA women's 1,500m national title at Hayward Field, recent Harvard graduate
Maia Ramsden headed to Burnaby, British Columbia in Canada for the 2024 Jerome Track Classic. Racing in the women's 1,500m open, Ramsden took first place, posting a time of 4:05.93. The New Zealand national record holder in the indoor and outdoor 1,500m, Ramsden won three NCAA national titles in her illustrious Crimson career.
A 2024 All-America First Team selection in the men's hammer throw, rising senior
Kenneth Ikeji took part in a meet in Canada as well. A native of London, United Kingdom, Ikeji opened the weekend with a win in the hammer throw at the National Track & Field Tour – Edmonton. On his third throw, Ikeji launched his best attempt of the afternoon, posting a mark of 76.95m (252'5.53") to take the victory.
Across the Atlantic, sophomore
Ferenc Kovacs set a new school record. Racing in the 1,500m at the APAK TOP List Invitational in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, Kovacs took first place with a time of 3:39.16, surpassing the former school record of 3:39.78, set by
Vivien Henz in 2023.
Select current and former Crimson student-athletes return to Eugene, Oregon for the United States Olympic Trails, beginning on Friday, June 21.
