EUGENE, Ore. – Harvard track & field wrapped up the first phase of competition at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Sunday night, as sophomore Sophia Gorriaran competed in the women's 800m semifinals.

Racing in a competitive first heat, Gorriaran started the race strong, posting a first-lap split of 59.12. Hanging with the pack down the stretch, Gorriaran finished in seventh place in her heat, just missing out on a spot in the finals with a time of 2:01.96. Overall, Gorriaran finished in 16^th place at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, capping a season that saw her earn All-America Second Team honors in the 800m during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Harvard returns to action at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Thursday, June 27, as six Crimson take part in the event. Harvard fans can watch all the action on NBC and Peacock.
