12 Student-Athletes Honored as 2024 CSC Academic All-District At-Large Selections

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – 12 Harvard student-athletes earned College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District At Large Honors, CSC announced today (June 24). 
 
Six women were selected as Emily Vermeule (Women's Fencing), Elsie Halvorsen (Women's Skiing), Riley Campbell (Women's Lacrosse), Isabella Gomez (Women's Golf), Emily Guckian (Field Hockey), and Ruby Hodge (Women's Water Polo) all took home All-District selections. On the men's side Philip Conigliaro (Wrestling), Joe Miller (Men's Ice Hockey), Collin Bergstrom (Men's Lacrosse), James Chen (Men's Fencing), Remi Drolet (Men's Skiing), and Jeffrey Fang (Men's Golf) all earned selections. 
 
All-District honorees are eligible for Academic All-America distinction which will be released in August. 

WOMEN 

Isabella Gomez | Women's Golf | Mechanical Engineering 

  • Harvard Women's Golf Career Record Holder for lowest scoring average
  • Had 20 of a possible 21 round scores counted towards the team score 
  • Secured 4 top-10 finishes in eight tournaments played. 
  • Had two rounds in the 60's and shot par or better in seven rounds this season. 
  • Helped Harvard secure two tournament victories with a fourth-place and T3 finishes.  

Elsie Halvorsen | Women's Skiing | History & Science 

  • 2023-24 NCAA Championships Qualifier
  • 2023-24 Team Captain
  • Three-time Team MVP (2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24)
  • Four-time USCSCA National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team 

Riley Campbell | Women's Lacrosse | Government 

  • Notched at least a hat-trick in 12 of 14 games in 2024.
  • Four 3-goal games, One 4-goal game, Four 5-goal games, Three 6-goal games in 2024.
  • Five or more points in 8 of 14 games this season.
  • First Team All-Ivy 
  • Ivy All-Tournament Team 
  • USA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention

Ruby Hodge | Women's Water Polo | Psychology 

  • Led team in scoring as a sophomore. 
  • CWPA First-Team 
  • ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention 

Emily Vermeule | Women's Fencing | Government 

  • 2024 NCAA Women's Epee National Champion
  • USFCA First Team All-American
  • 2024 Ivy League Women's Epee Champion
  • Academic All-Ivy League honoree

Emily Guckian | Economics | Field Hockey

  • Ivy Wrestler of the Year (first time since 2010 for a Harvard wrestler)

James Chen | Men's Fencing | Computer Science 

  • 3.95 GPA – Computer Science 
  • Team Captain of the 2024 National Champions
  • USFCA All-America Honorable Mention

Rémi Drolet | Men's Skiing | Physics with Mathematics 

  • 2023 NCAA Champion in the Men's 20k Classic
  • Three-Time All-American (twice in 2023, once in 2024)
  • 2022 Olympian with Team Canada
  • Three-time NCAA Qualifier (2020, 2023, 2024)
  • 2023-24 Team Captain

Jeffrey Fang | Men's Golf | Economics / Slavic Languages and Literatures  

  • Second-Team All-Ivy League 
  • Academic All-Ivy League.
  • Secured two top-10 finishes on the year.
  • Posted a 72.21 Scoring Average over 24 rounds played.
  • Finished T11 in a highly competitive field at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, opening the tournament by going -8 through eight holes. 
  • Ended the season with a seventh-place finish at the Ivy League Championships.  

Collin Bergstrom | Men's Lacrosse | History

  • 2024 Harvard Lacrosse Team Captain
  • Second-Team All-Ivy League 
  • USILA Scholar All-American
  • NEILA Second-Team All-New England. 
  • Totaled 14 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers
  • Was the team's most reliable close defender, consistently marking opponents' top scoring threats
