CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's ice hockey will welcome eight new first-years to the program this season. Coach Donato and the Crimson will add four forwards, two defensemen, and two netminders to the roster for the 24-25 season. 
 
One of the youngest teams in the country, the Crimson battled throughout the 23-24 season to earn home ice in the first round of the ECAC playoffs. Winning at least one playoff round in every season since 2013-2014, the Crimson fell to the eventual ECAC champion Cornell Big Red in two very close games in Ithaca. 
 
Returning most of its core from last season, Harvard looks to build upon a successful season with key performers, Ian Moore, Zakary Karpa, Joe Miller, Ryan Healey, Jack Bar, and Aku Koskenvuo set to return for the Crimson next season.

Mick Thompson | Forward | Mississauga, Ont. | Chicago Steel (USHL) | Bergen Catholic High

Played with the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL from 2022-2024…Named AJHL Goalie of the Year (2023-24)…Had the best AJHL save percentage (.925) and goals against average (2.40)…Received the AJHL Team Goalies Award for fewest goals allowed by a team in the regular season…Named Whitecourt Wolverine Team MVP…Previously played for the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL during the 2021-22 season where he helped them win the NAHL Championship…Parents are Chris and Sue.

William Hughes | Forward | Andover, Mass. | Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) | Dexter Southfield School  

Played for the Green Bay Gamblers and the Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL) in 2023-24… Assistant Captain at Dexter Southfield in 2021-22… Scored 12 goals and added 15 assists between Muskegon and Green Bay Gamblers.
