CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Ice Hockey announced its 2024-25 schedule today, with a 29-game slate including 22 ECAC games, 12 games at Bright-Landry Hockey Center, and a trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland, for the Friendship Four over the Thanksgiving break.
Harvard will play host to its third-annual Hocktoberfest on Thursday, Oct. 3, transforming Bright-Landry into an arena full of interactive hockey with a chance to meet Harvard Hockey coaches and staff.
The Crimson will play two preseason games with the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP) program coming to Bright for an exhibition on Oct. 18, before playing Boston University in a scrimmage on Oct. 19.
Opening the '24-25 campaign with on home ice with Ivy foe Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 3, the Crimson will then head south to play Princeton and Quinnipiac the following weekend for its first road trip of the season.
Wrapping up six straight ECAC contests, Harvard will welcome Colgate and Cornell over the weekend of Nov. 15-16. One of the biggest nights of the year at Bright-Landry, Cornell-Harvard will be the first meeting between the two Ivy League rivals since last season's ECAC Quarterfinal matchup.
Beginning a busy week, Harvard will travel west to play UMass in its first non-conference game on Nov. 22 in Amherst. The Crimson played the nationally ranked Minutemen last season at Bright-Landry, falling just short in a thrilling 6-5 game over the Thanksgiving break.
Harvard will then head to Europe for the first time in program history as it participates in the 2024 Friendship Four in Belfast. Closing the week-long trip with a pair of games at SSE Arena Belfast, the Crimson will play Notre Dame in the first game before a meeting with either Boston University or Merrimack College in the final game from Northern Ireland.
Returning home with a pair of games before the Christmas break, the Crimson will welcome Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Dec. 6-7, as part of six-straight home games at Bright-Landry. Harvard will play host to its annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday against the Saints.
Returning to action with a New Year's Day meeting with Quinnipiac, Harvard will then play another Connecticut school as UConn is set to play the Crimson on Saturday in its second fourth non-conference game of the season. The Crimson traveled to Storrs last season on New Year's Eve in a nationally televised broadcast.
Games against Brown and Yale marks a return to ECAC action as both come to Cambridge to close out the six-game homestand before the Crimson head off on a five game road-trip. Prior to hitting the road, however, Harvard will play host to Harvard Law School on Friday against Brown before honoring former Harvard head coach Bill Cleary on Saturday against Yale.
After a weekend of home festivities, Harvard will travel to nearby Chestnut Hill for a weekday matchup with Boston College on Jan. 14, before traveling to RPI and Union for a weekend series in the Capitol District.
The following weekend features the Crimson heading to Lynah and the Class of 1965 Arena in its final tune-up before returning to Bright just in time for Beanpot season.
Opening Beanpot week with a Friday matchup with Princeton on Jan. 31, the Crimson will play Boston University in the first round of the 72
nd annual Dunkin' Beanpot. The Princeton matchup will be #OneCrimson / Slapshot night at Bright.
A one-game weekend at Dartmouth (Feb. 7) precedes the second round of the Beanpot with Harvard going head-to-head with either Boston College or Northeastern on the following Monday. The second round will take place at TD Garden.
With just three weekends to go in the regular season, Harvard will travel up to the North Country to play St. Lawrence and Clarkson before returning home for the final two home games of the regular season.
Union and RPI come to Bright on Feb. 21-22 as the Crimson will honor the military and first responders on Friday before Senior Night on Saturday against RPI
Harvard will close the regular season with quick trips to Yale and Brown the following weekend.
With one of the youngest teams in the country, the Crimson battled throughout the '23-24 season to earn home ice in the first round of the ECAC playoffs. Winning at least a round in every season since 2013-14, the Crimson fell to the eventual ECAC champion Cornell Big Red in two very close games in Ithaca, New York.
