How it Happened

Harvard opened the 2025 portion of its season this afternoon down in New York City at the SL Green StreetSquash Center in the Upper West Side of Manhattan where it battled the No. 9 ranked Columbia Lions. The Crimson was looking to remain unbeaten on the season and add another win in Ivy League play against the Lions.

The Crimson built an early lead in the first wave after Ocean Ma and Amira Singh raced to earn the first wins of the days for Harvard. At the top of the ladder, Saran Nghiem split the first two games with her opponent but was unable to build momentum, eventually falling in a competitive match, 1-3.

The Crimson sealed the win in the second group of matches after three consecutive victories from Lucie Stefanoni, Brecon Welch and Molly Stoltz at the third, eighth and sixth pairings, respectively. Welch and Stefanoni both won their matches in straight games, while Stotlz won hers 3-1, to give Harvard the victory.
