ITHACA, N.Y. – Seven match sweeps led Harvard women's squash to a victory this afternoon on the road against the No. 8 Cornell Big Red. The Crimson (5-0, 3-0 Ivy) remain unbeaten on the season with the result after knocking off the No. 8 Big Red.
How it Happened
Ocean Ma got the Crimson going early in the match, cruising to a 3-0 win in her match at the fifth position.
Amira Singh was just behind Ma, winning her match in the same sweeping fashion at seven to give the Crimson a quick 2-0 lead over the Big Red. Cornell added a win in the first wave at the top of the ladder, making the score 2-1 in favor of Harvard after three matches.
Molly Stoltz got Harvard started in the second set of matches, sprinting to a 3-0 win at her match at six.
Brecon Welch set up the win for Harvard, getting the fourth tally of the match with a 3-0 win in her pairing at the eight position.
Lucie Stefanoni gave Harvard the win with another 3-0 victory at the third matchup.
In the final group,
Emma Carney earned a win at the nine spot and
Habiba Eldafrawy took home another 3-0 win to boost the Crimson advantage.
Caroline Fouts recorded the final victory of the day, earning a 3-0 win at the second pairing to send Harvard back to Cambridge with an 8-1 victory.
