CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 1 Harvard women's squash team was narrowly defeated tonight in the annual rivalry match against No. 3 Trinity, coming in on the wrong side of a 4-5 defeat. The Crimson (5-1, 3-0 Ivy) got wins from the top four positions in the lineup, but it was not enough to top the No. 3 Bantams, who escaped with a win at the Murr Center squash courts.
Saran Nghiem led the way at the top of the ladder, earning a 3-0 win in sweeping fashion, winning 11-5, 11-2, 11-3 to cruise to a win. At the second spot,
Caroline Fouts battled back from a 1-2 deficit to win the final two games and earn a 3-2 win.
Lucie Stefanoni, playing at the third spot on the ladder, also earned a 3-2 win, winning the decisive fifth game, 11-6.
Habiba Eldafrawy took home the fourth win of the night for the Crimson, earning a 3-0 win, all games that were decided by three or less points.
Trinity earned three match wins by a score of 3-2 to clinch the victory over the Crimson.
