CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University men's soccer senior goalkeeper
Lucian Wood has earned Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after posting a shutout against No. 2 Vermont and a 0.50 GAA this past week, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Wood tallied a 0.50 GAA, .800 save percentage, one shutout, and a 0-0-2 record over two starts last week. Wood tallied a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with No. 2 Vermont on Oct. 7 as Harvard became the first team this year to register a shutout against the Catamounts. He then notched three saves and permitted just one goal in a 1-1 draw with Yale on Oct. 11. For the year, he has allowed one or fewer goals in six of his seven starts for a 1.00 GAA on the season.
Wood captured Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time this year alongside his award on Sept. 8. He took home the plaudits for the third time in his career after also collecting the laurels on Oct. 9, 2023.
Next, Harvard hosts Brown on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 4:00 p.m. (ESPN+).
