Four Women's Hockey Alumnae Set for 2025-26 PWHL Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's ice hockey is proud to announce that four of its alumnae have earned spots on final rosters in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) ahead of the 2025-26 season, which begins tomorrow. Dominique Petrie '22 (Minnesota Forst) and Emerance Maschmeyer '16 (Vancouver Goldeneyes) are joined by Mia Biotti '25 (Boston Fleet) and Kristin Della Rovere '23 (Toronto Sceptres) this season.

Petrie, a standout forward for the Minnesota Frost, returns to the professional ranks after continuing to build an impressive post-collegiate resume. A four-year contributor for the Crimson, Petrie was a consistent offensive threat during her Harvard career, Petrie ranks inside the top-50 in program history with 71 career points. She helped anchor Harvard's attack during multiple ECAC and Ivy League campaigns, that resulted in an Ivy League and ECAC Championship in the 2021-22 season.

The Harvard program leader in career saves, Maschmeyer will suit up for the Vancouver Goldeneyes to continue her decorated career between the pipes. One of the most accomplished goaltenders in Harvard program history, Maschmeyer was a two-time First Team All-ECAC selection, a 2013-14 All-American and a Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award finalist during her time in Cambridge. Maschmeyer will continue her professional career in a new sweater this season as she will be a part of the Vancouver Goldeneyes inaugural season.

A newcomer to the PWHL, Mia Biotti earned a spot on the Boston Fleet's practice roster after competing with the team throughout the preseason. Her former teammate, Della Rovere, returns to the PWHL to join the Toronto Sceptres where she will begin the season on the practice roster.

Just four of the 20-plus Harvard women's hockey student-athletes who have gone to compete in the professional ranks, Petrie and Maschmeyer will continue their professional careers in an exciting new season for the PWHL. The league continued to build this offseason, adding two new franchises – the Seattle Torrent and Maschmeyer's Vancouver Goldeneyes – to expand the league to eight teams.

The 2025-26 PWHL season officially gets underway tomorrow, with both the Minnesota Frost and Vancouver Goldeneyes set to begin their campaigns as part of another highly anticipated year in women's professional hockey.
