CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2025-26 Harvard women's squash season is finally here as the team is set to open the campaign with a pair of top 15 matchups this week. The Crimson (0-0, 0-0 Ivy) will first take on No. 12 Dartmouth (1-1, 0-0 Ivy) before traveling South to take on the No. 6 Virginia (5-1) in Charlottesville.
The Matchups
The No. 3 Harvard women's squash team is set to open its 2025-26 season on Tuesday (Dec. 2) with a match against Dartmouth. The Big Green enter the match with a 1-1 record after falling to No. 6 Virginia and defeating Middlebury. Harvard will then travel South to the University of Virginia for a match on Friday (Dec. 5) at 1:00 PM in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers come into the meeting with a record of 5-1 and a national ranking of No. 6.
Recapping 2024-25
13 victories, an Ivy League Championship and a second-place finish in the national tournament highlighted another successful season for the Harvard Women's Squash team. One of the best teams in the nation from start to finish, the team came together in 2024-25 to add more honors to the program's long list of achievements.
Opening the year on a five-match win streak, the Crimson quickly hit its stride in regular season play. The team hit double-digit wins for the 17th consecutive season, posting a 11-1 record that was highlighted by an undefeated 6-0 mark in Ivy League play and the program's ninth consecutive Ivy League Championship. Harvard upset No. 1 Princeton on its home courts at the Murr Squash Center to secure the title.
The team's success in the league helped them earn four All-Ivy League Team honors while
Mike Way,
Hameed Ahmed and Luke Hammond secured their tenth consecutive Ivy League Women's Squash Coaching Staff of the Year Award.
Saran Nghiem,
Lucie Stefanoni and
Caroline Fouts were all unanimously voted to the All-Ivy First Team and
Habiba Eldafrawy earned second-team honors after remarkable results on court.
Harvard's success carried over to the CSA Team National Championships, where the team cruised to the Howe Cup Finals for the 14th time in the last 15 seasons after convincing victories over No. 7 Yale and No. 3 Princeton. After a narrow defeat in the finals against No. 1 Trinity, the Crimson emerged as the National Runner-up at the National tournament.
Back in Crimson
Harvard returns five of its starting nine players from last year's lineup including it's top three of
Saran Nghiem,
Caroline Fouts and
Lucie Stefanoni.
Molly Stoltz and
Ocean Ma also return to the Crimson lineup after competing in the sixth and fifth spots, respectively, a season ago.
Series History
Harvard women's squash owns a sizeable lead in the all-time series against the Big Green with a 55-3 advantage in the matchup historically. The Crimson has won its previous 19 meetings against the Big Green dating back to the 2008 season.
Harvard and Virginia have only competed four times in series history. All four meetings have come in the past three seasons and all have gone to the Crimson. Harvard has only competed once against the Cavaliers on their home courts back in 2023, an eventual 9-0 win for the Crimson.
The Captains
The Harvard women's squash team elected
Molly Stoltz and
Saran Nghiem to lead the team as captains for the 2025-26 season. Both student-athletes have becomes leaders for the program in their previous three seasons and will now assume new roles this year. The duo hopes to lead the team to more success this season which will be their last with the Crimson.
The First-Years
The Harvard women's squash team has retooled and reloaded this Summer as a trio of talented athletes are set to join the Crimson for the 2025-26 season this Fall.
Jomana Ahmed,
Dixon Hill and
Ona Blasco Puig make up the trio of student-athletes in the Crimson and Harvard's Class of 2029. All three incoming student-athletes ranked in the top 10 in their respective country's rankings, and all have also achieved a No. 1 ranking at some point in their junior careers. The trio has seen success at the junior level and will now look to help the Crimson win more trophies as it begins its collegiate careers this week.
Up Next
These two matches will be the team's only competitions of the semester. The team is set to return to play in mid-January with a pair of matches against Columbia (Jan. 17) and Cornell (Jan. 18) at the Murr Center.
