MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving captured the 400 medley relay and enjoyed a solid first day at the Minnesota Invitational.

Prelim Highlights

• Pablo Martinez put up Harvard's top time in the 500 free, finishing in a season-best 4:21.43, which was good for sixth place.
• Adriano Arioti came in fourth place in the 200 IM with a season-best time of 1:47.10.
• Sonny Wang nearly reached the NCAA standard in the 50 free, finishing in 19.49, which was good for fifth place. The national standard this season is 19.43.

Finals Highlights

• Wang, Marre Gattnar, Maro Miknic and Evan Croley opened the finals session by taking second in the A-final of the 200 free relay. The foursome finished the race in 1:17.85.
• Martinez shaved more than a second off his prelim time when he finished the A-final of the 500 free in 4:20.28. The first-year came in fifth place overall.
• Arioti produced a faster finals time in the 200 IM than earlier in the day during the prelim session. The sophomore completed the race in 1:46.72, which was good for fifth place.
• Wang closed out the individual swimming events with a sixth-place showing in the A-final of the 50 free (19.56).
• Chase Shipp, meanwhile, posted the Crimson's top 3-meter diving finals score. The first-year came in sixth place with a score of 314.90. Denny Gulia-Janovski (313.40) and Will Sullivan (284.20) came in the seventh and eighth place, respectively.
• Harvard put the final touches on the first day of the invitational by claiming the 400 medley relay. Arioti, Joshua Chen, Miknic and Wang finished ahead of the pack, producing a winning time of 3:09.23, which was nearly one second better than the runner-up quartet from Minnesota (3:10.21).
