Harvard Women’s Basketball to Celebrate Academic and Athletic Excellence with “NERDS” Jersey Giveaway on January 10

All fans attending the Harvard–Columbia game will receive a special-edition Crimson NERDS jersey recognizing the program’s commitment to excellence on and off the court

CAMBRIDGE, Mass — Harvard Athletics announced today that all fans in attendance at the Harvard–Columbia women's basketball game on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Lavietes Pavilion will receive a special-edition NERDS jersey. The promotion highlights Harvard Women's Basketball's continued commitment to academic achievement, competitive excellence, and the student-athlete experience.
 
Designed in Harvard Crimson with "NERDS" across the front, the jersey reflects the pride the program takes in excelling both in the classroom and on the court. Many members of the 2025–26 roster are pursuing concentrations in engineering, economics, computer science, government, neuroscience, applied mathematics, and other rigorous fields, a hallmark of the Harvard student-athlete experience.
 
"We've seen that 'nerds can hoop too' has become a mantra amongst the players on our roster and throughout our Crimson Basketball community," said Carrie Moore, The Kathy Delaney-Smith Head Coach For Harvard Women's Basketball, The Ragatz Family Harvard Coach of Excellence. "We know that our fans will enjoy these one-of-a-kind jerseys, and we look forward to welcoming a packed crowd for our first home conference game of the season."
 
Harvard currently sits at 6-5 with a 3-0 record at home, and recently earned its first SEC win in program history with a 69–51 victory at Arkansas and have shown steady production across the roster, averaging 64.4 points and 36.0 rebounds per game.
 
The Crimson and the Columbia Lions have produced some of the Ivy League's most competitive recent matchups, and the January 10 meeting is expected to draw one of the largest crowds of the season.
 
The giveaway is part of Harvard's winter promotional calendar, including the annual Play4Kay game and several themed nights aimed at elevating the fan experience at Lavietes Pavilion.
