Men's Hockey Heads North to St. Lawrence and Clarkson This Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Men's hockey heads north to St. Lawrence and Clarkson this weekend for its longest road trip of the season. The back-to-back will see the Crimson wrap up the season series with the North Country foes. 

PUCK DROP
  • Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday from Appleton Arena and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday to wrap up the trip against the Golden Knights, with both games streaming on ESPN+. 
  • The Saints are 8-18-2 this season with a 4-10-2 conference record.
  • St. Lawrence is 2-2-1 in its last five games, with losses to Colgate and Quinnipiac, wins against Cornell and Clarkson, and a tie with Princeton. 
  • Clarkson is 16-9-3 this season with a 10-5-1 conference record and currently sits in fourth place in the ECAC. 
  • Eight points ahead of the Crimson, the Golden Knights are also 2-2-1 in their last five games.
LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Crimson defeated Northeastern 4-3 in the Beanpot third-place game on Monday after a career day from Mason Langenbrunner
  • Netting two goals on the power-play, Langenbrunner had never scored two goals in a game in his career. 
  • Casey Severo and Mick Thompson added the other two tallies. 
  • Harvard picked up its first win over Northeastern since Jan. 1, 2023.
LOOKING BACK
  • The Crimson lost 4-3 to Clarkson and recorded a shootout win over St. Lawrence in its last homestand before the Christmas break this season. 
  • Casey Severo, Marek Hejduk, and Cam Johnson scored for the Crimson in the loss to the Golden Knights.
  • Ben Charette made 31 stops in his first career shutout over the Saints the following evening. 
CRIMSON AND SAINTS BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Over the last ten seasons, Harvard is 16-2-2 against the Saints and 3-1-1 in its last five games.
  • Harvard leads the all-time series 67-45-9. 
  • Joe Miller leads the Crimson against the Saints with three points in five games.
CRIMSON AND KNIGHTS BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Over the last ten seasons, Harvard is 8-11-1 against the Golden Knights with Clarkson winning the last three matchups. 
  • In a series full of streaks, Harvard won all three meetings from 2022-2023 while the Golden Knights have won the next three.
  • Harvard barely trails the all-time series 61-64-12. 
4 FOR 4 
  • The Crimson scored four goals on its first four power-play attempts in the Beanpot third-place game against Northeastern, marking the first time Harvard had scored at least four power-play goals since 2019. 
  • One shy of the program record of five power-play goals, the Crimson has only scored at least four goals on the man advantage 12 times since 1947. 
THE 300 CLUB
  • Ted Donato notched his 300th win against Yale on Jan. 13, 2024, making him one of only three coaches in Harvard hockey history to reach this milestone.
  • Donato sits just 12 wins away from becoming Harvard men's hockey's all-time winningest coach.
  • Currently at 313 career wins, Donato is just three short of tying Ralph 'Cooney' Weiland in second place all time. 
  • Donato is seventh in all-time wins among ECAC coaches and one of 15 active Division I coaches in the top 50 with over 300 wins.
  • Donato is currently 15th all-time in winning percentage among active coaches with at least 100 games coached in Division I. 
CLUTCH CASEY
  • Last season, seven of Severo's eight goals had either narrowed the deficit to one, tied the game, or given the Crimson the lead. 
  • This season, seven of his 10 goals have given the Crimson the lead while the remaining three have given the Crimson a two-goal lead. 
  • Over the last two seasons, 14 of his 20 goals have either cut the deficit to one, tied the game, or given the Crimson the lead.
