CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – February 4, 2025 – For the final time in the 2024-25 regular season, Harvard women's ice hockey will hit the road for an ECAC hockey series. The final trip of the regular season slate will take the Crimson to Brown on Friday (Feb. 7) and Yale on Saturday (Feb. 8) for a pair of Ivy League tilts.
Last Time Out
Harvard was on the road last weekend to take on the No. 10 Quinnipiac Bobcats and the No. 13 Princeton Tigers. In the first tilt against Quinnipiac, Harvard put up a fight in an eventual 2-1 loss.
Sophie Ensley scored the Crimson goal and
Emily Davidson made 27 saves in the effort.
Ainsley Tuffy made 25 saves in her start against the Tigers, allowing only two goals, but the Tigers managed to hold off the Cirmson offense to secure a 2-0 victory.
Series History Against Brown
Brown took the first meeting of the season series earlier this year, earning a 5-1 victory. Harvard still owns the advantage in the all-time series with a 53-36-7 record against the Bears dating back to the 1978-79 season.
Series History Against Yale
The Crimson knocked off No. 15 Yale, 5-1, in the first meeting between the teams this season back on Nov. 1. The result improved the Crimson's record against Yale to 80-15-6 all-time. The win also broke a six-game Yale winning streak dating back to 2022.
Strength of Schedule
Harvard will play a pair of games this weekend against opponents receiving votes in the national polls. This will snap a streak of five consecutive games played against Nationally ranked opponents, dating back to Jan. 21. Overall, the Crimson has competed against 14 teams ranked teams in 24 games played this season.
The challenging slate gives Harvard the ninth hardest schedule in the nation according to the USCHO's National Power Index.
Davidson Adams Leading the Way
Senior forward,
Gabi Davidson Adams, went on a three-game point streak from Jan. 21-Jan. 25 to grab a hold of the team lead in points. GDA first registered an assist in the Beanpot third-place game against Boston College before recording her first career two-goal game in the matchup against Colgate. The Canadian finished off the run with an assist against Cornell to improve her season total to 10 points.
Minding the Net
Harvard's platoon of goalkeepers,
Emily Davidson and
Ainsley Tuffy, have performed well this season while minding the crease for the Crimson. The duo has split the work for a majority of the season, posting .903 and .919 save percentages, respectively.
Blocking Shots
The strength of Harvard's defense all season long has been its ability to block shots. The group has blocked 18.5 shots per game – for a total of 444 blocks – this year to rank second nationally in the metric.
Senior captain
Jenna MacDonald leads the charge with 59 blocked shots on the season and 2.7 blocked shots per game which is good for the third-most in the nation and the most in the ECAC. Her sister,
Kaley MacDonald, ranks 11
th in the nation with 2.3 blocked shots per game this season.
Mia Biotti is also close behind with 2.1 blocked shots per game which is good for 20

ECAC Tournament Picture
With just four games remaining in conference play, the ECAC Tournament picture is beginning to shake out. Harvard will be on the road for the first round of the ECAC tournament, where it could take on a few different teams depending on the results of the final four games. If the season were to end today, the Crimson would play at Clarkson, with Quinnipiac, Princeton and Yale all still possible options.
Up Next
Harvard will host two teams ranked in the National Top 10 next weekend when the St. Lawrence Saints and the Clarkson Golden Knights come to the Bright-Landry Hockey Center for the final ECAC series of the regular season. The Crimson will first compete against Clarkson on Friday night at 6:00 PM with the matchup against the Saints scheduled for 3:00 PM on Saturday.
