Harvard Sets New Ivy League, School Records at Crimson Elite

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track & field student-athletes shined on their home turf at Gordon Indoor Track on Friday, as the Crimson set three Ivy League and school records at the Crimson Elite.

The day began with a monumental showing in the women's pentathlon, as senior Izzy Goudros broke a 12-year-old Ivy League record in the event with 4313 points, surpassing the former record of 4209 set by former Crimson Martina Salander '16 at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Goudros ranks fourth nationally in the pentathlon this season.

In her run to the Ivy League record in the pentathlon, Goudros reset her own program record in the women's long jump, leaping to a mark of 6.28m (20'7.25").

The Crimson Elite ended on a high note, as sophomore Timi Esan ran a race to remember in the men's 60m final. Running in lane five, Esan crossed the finish line in 6.68, surpassing his school record of 6.70 set at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge. A native of London, England, Esan leads the Ivy League in the 60m this season and is the only student-athlete in the conference to go sub-6.70 this year in the event.
