CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – First-years Mick Thompson and Ben Charette were both named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team, the ECAC announced today.

Thompson adds another accolade to an already impressive season after leading the ECAC in points among rookies with 8 goals, 13 assists, and 21 points in 22 games played. His 21 ECAC points rank third among Crimson skaters in the last 23 years, trailing only Adam Fox (22 points) and Nick Abruzzese (31 points).

Thompson picked up his first collegiate point and first collegiate goal against Princeton, scoring the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Crimson over the Tigers. It was the first of his eight multi-point outings this season. He opened his first conference weekend with four points—two against Princeton and two more against Quinnipiac on the road. In his final six conference games, he recorded 3 three-point performances.

Charette led all ECAC goaltenders with at least 10 games played in save percentage, posting a .926 SV% in 10 conference games. He recorded his first career shutout with a 31-save performance against St. Lawrence in early December and averaged 28 saves per game in his first season in Cambridge. Finishing the season with a 2.25 GAA and three wins, Charette is the first Crimson netminder to be named to the All-Rookie Team since Mitchell Gibson in 2019-20.

Named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List in January, Charette made his collegiate debut in a non-conference matchup against Notre Dame at the Friendship Four and went on to make the next six starts for the Crimson.

The Crimson now heads to Clarkson for a best-of-three quarterfinal series beginning Friday.
