PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving's
Nina Janmyr qualified for the NCAA Championships on the 1-meter springboard after finishing in sixth place on Tuesday at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at Rutgers Aquatic Center.
A junior, Janmyr secured a spot in the finals after a preliminary score of 278.40, which was ninth overall and fourth in the B-prelim. Senior
Remi Edvalson also advanced to the finals following her 11
th-place prelim showing (276.90; 7
th in A-prelim).
In the championship round, Janmyr moved up three spots after another six dives, moving up to sixth place with a score of 571.25. Edvalson, meanwhile, finished the competition in 13
th place (542.20). To earn a spot in Federal Way, Washington, for the NCAA Championships, competitors needed to finish in the top-7, a feat Janmyr accomplished to secure her third straight NCAA bid.
Amy Wotovich and
Tabitha Chen-Fiske also performed in the prelims, with Wotovich placing 27
th (244.55) and Chen-Fiske finishing in 36
th (233.55) in the 81-athlete field.
The Crimson will close out the Zone meet on Wednesday with Edvalson,
Samantha Holtz, Janmyr and
Elizabeth Miclau competing on the platform. Prelims start at 9:30 a.m. ET, with the finals set for 11:30 a.m. Both rounds will air live on
