PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving's
Remi Edvalson earned an NCAA Championships berth on Wednesday in platform diving on the final day of the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at Rutgers Aquatic Center.
A senior from California, Edvalson snagged one of 18 finals slots, along with
Samantha Holtz,
Nina Janmyr and
Elizabeth Miclau, for her performance in the prelims. Edvalson registered a score of 252.80 to finish in fourth place. Holtz joined Edvalson in the top 10 with a score of 222.65, while Miclau (219.50) and Janmyr (210.65) finished in 12
th and 17
th place, respectively.
After the championship field attempted five more dives, Edvalson remained in fourth with her 508.25, securing one of five NCAA bids that were up for grabs. Miclau climbed to ninth place (468.05), with Holtz (450.15) coming in 11
th and Janmyr (425.25) and finishing in 17
th.
Edvalson (platform diving), Janmyr (1-meter diving) and
Alexandra Bastone (500 free, 1,650 free) will now prepare for the NCAA Championships, which are set for Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Washington. The 1-meter event and the 500 free are scheduled for Thursday, March 20. Platform diving and the 1,650 free, meanwhile, will be contested on Saturday, March 22.
