ITHACA, N.Y. – Highlighted by nine event titles, Harvard track & field wrapped up its time at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field championships with a stellar Sunday afternoon at Barton Hall.
The women's team finished in second place with 160 points, just 8 points behind first place Princeton. The men finished in fifth place with 62 points.
In the sprint finals, Harvard shined. The women's 60m hurdles saw the Crimson claim the top-two spots, as junior
Fabiola Belibi won her first Ivy League title in the event. A native of Englewood, Colorado, Belibi posted a time of 8.34, a new lifetime best.
Moments later, first-year
LeRoy Horton stunned the crowd at Barton Hall, winning the men's 60m Ivy League title with a time of 6.76, just a hair off of matching his collegiate-best 6.75 from earlier this season.
Harvard found more success on the track in the women's 400m. A native of Suwanee, Georgia, senior
Chloe Fair won her second Ivy League title in the event, doing so with a time of 53.53 in the final.
History was made in the women's 500m, as senior
Victoria Bossong became the first student-athlete in Ivy League history to win the event four years in a row. Running in the second heat, Bossong posted a time of 1:09.39, a new facility record. A native of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, Bossong holds the Ivy League record in the women's 500m.
Moving over to the distance events, junior
Molly Malague reached a career milestone in the women's 5000m, winning her first Ivy League individual title. Malague was dominant in her run to gold, posting a time of 16:10.32, beating out second place by a staggering 13 seconds.
Two women's relays took home first place, each setting new facility records in the process. Bossong, joined by sophomore
Sophia Gorriaran, first-year
Ella Cooper, and junior
Penelope Salmon, pushed the women's distance medley relay to an Ivy League title with a time of 11:16.49. Bossong, Fair, sophomore
Marta Amani, and junior
Mfoniso Andrew combined to win the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 3:39.44.
Individually, senior
Kenneth Ikeji is the Men's Most Outstanding Field Athlete, while senior
Izzy Goudros won the Women's Most Outstanding Track Athlete award.Â
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:
- The day started with scoring in the men's mile, as senior Noah Ward took sixth place, crossing the finish line in 4:07.83.
- A pair of Crimson contributed to the tally in the women's mile. Senior Marianne Mihas scored four points with a fourth-place finish, posting a time of 4:45.69. Fellow classmate Ellaney Matarese took fifth place, scoring two points with a time of 4:47.20.
- Harvard shined in the women's 60m hurdles. Belibi won her first Ivy League title with a lifetime-best time of 8.34, while Goudros picked up second team honors with a time of 8.37, another personal-best.
- In his Heps debut, Horton was outstanding, winning the men's 60m with a time of 6.76. A native of University Place, Washington, Horton is the first Crimson to win the event at Heps since 2015.
- The women's 60m saw Goudros make an impact again, as she contributed six points with a third place showing, sprinting a 7.45, just short of her personal-best in the event.
- An All-American in the 400m hurdles last outdoor season, Fair won her second Ivy League title in the women's indoor 400m, posting a time of 53.53. Hailing from Suwanee, Georgia, Fair is one of four Crimson to win multiple Ivy League titles in the women's indoor 400m.
- Bossong kept the Crimson's momentum going in the women's 500m, becoming the first student-athlete in conference history to win the event four times, crossing the finish line in 1:09.39.
- Senior Joe Ewing garnered All-ivy League Second Team status in the men's 1000m, finishing in second with a time of 2:22.24.
- Harvard scored more points in the women's 1000m, as sophomore Samira Kennedy took sixth with a time of 2:50.86.
- A pair of Crimson recorded points in the men's 200m. First-Year Jordan Coleman placed fourth with a time of 21.83, while junior Jonas Clarke placed sixth, posting a 21.86.
- Three Harvard student-athletes finished in the top-six of the women's 200m. Goudros led the way with a second place finish in the event with a time of 23.96, while Fair finished in fourth with a time of 24.20. Cooper rounded out the scoring, taking sixth with a time of 24.47.
- In her first appearance at Heptagonals, first-year Tyler Glover finished in fourth in the women's shot put with a throw of 14.75m (48'4.75"). Sophomore Milina Wepiwé added points as well, taking sixth place with an attempt of 14.21m (46'7.5").
- Sophomore Tito Alofe earned All-Ivy League Second Team honors in the indoor men's high jump for the second time in his career, clearing the bar at 2.21m (7'3").
- The men's 5000m was highlighted by a fourth place finish from sophomore Charlie Ortmans, as the Arlington, Virginia native recorded a personal-best time of 13:59.24 on the flat track at Barton Hall.
- In a stellar showing, Malague won the women's 5000m, outpacing the competition with a time of 16:10.32. Senior Ella Gilson also scored, taking sixth place with a time of 16:37.17.
- Ward, Ewing, senior Reed Pryor, and first-year Brayden Chavez scored two points with a fifth-place finish in the men's distance medley relay, as the quartet posted a time of 9:53.68.
- The Crimson owned the women's distance medley relay, as Gorriaran, Cooper, Bossong, and Salmon joined forces to post a time of 11:16.49, a new facility record at Barton Hall.
- In the women's 4x800m relay, the Crimson made history, as Mihas, Matarese, Kennedy and Gorriaran broke the school record with a time of 8:44.42, a new school record.
- Finishing in fifth place, First-Years Harlow Tong, Hudson Allain, Liam Acevedo and senior Peter Fischer ran a 3:15.47 to score points in the men's 4x400m relay.
- The Crimson's time at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships ended with the women's 4x400m relay, as Andrew, Amani, Fair and Bossong posted a time of 3:39.44 to win the event.
