Eight Crimson Set to Compete at 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships This Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After starting the 2025-26 collegiate track & field season all the way back in December, eight Crimson will now head to the legendary Hayward Field from Wednesday, June 10 to Saturday, June 13 for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Harvard fans can catch all the action from Eugene, Oregon on the ESPN Family of Networks this week.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • Harvard's eight qualifiers at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships will compete across six different events this week.
  • For the first time in program history, Harvard will send a men's 4x100m relay to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, as the quartet of junior Timi Esan, senior Jonas Clarke, sophomore LeRoy Horton and junior Amari Turner punched their tickets to Eugene in style at the NCAA East First Round last month.
  • Harvard's men's 4x100m relay posted a time of 38.90 in Lexington, setting both a new school and Ivy League record in the process. Harvard is now the first team in Ancient Eight history to run a sub-39.00 second men's 4x100m relay, as Harvard is only the second Ivy League program to qualify in the men's 4x100m relay at the NCAAA Outdoor Championships since 2000.
  • The men's 4x100m relay semifinal kicks off track action at 8:05 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday, June 10, as the top two finishers from each heat and the next three fastest times will qualify for the men's 4x100m relay final at 8:02 p.m. eastern time on Friday, June 12.
  • Junior Tito Alofe, the reigning NCAA national champion in the men's indoor high jump, looks to make history in the outdoor iteration of the men's high jump at 7:30 p.m. eastern time on Friday, June 12.
  • A native of Peachtree City, Georgia, Alofe is looking to become only the 19th student-athlete in NCAA history to win both the indoor and outdoor men's high jump national titles in the same season. Alofe's personal-best in the outdoor high jump is 2.25m (7'4.5"), a mark set at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships. Alofe is competing at the NCAA Championships for the sixth time in his career.
  • The Ivy League champion in the men's 10,000m this season, junior Charlie Ortmans wraps a breakout 2025-26 campaign with his first ever appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, competing in the both the men's 5000m and the men's 10,000m.
  • A native of Arlington, Virginia, Ortmans is only the fourth Crimson in school history to qualify for both the men's 5000m and 10,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, joining two-time NCAA men's cross country champion Graham Blanks '25, Acer Iverson '24 and Matthew Pereira '22.
  • Ortmans ranks 17th among the field with a seed time of 28:53.00 in the men's 10,000m, while the Arlington, Virginia native's seed time of 13:41.79 ranks 11th in the men's 5000m field. The men's 10,000m final takes place at 10:56 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday, June 10 while Ortmans wraps up his time in Eugene at 9:55 p.m. eastern time on Friday, June 12 with the men's 5000m final.
  • Two Crimson first-year will represent the Crimson's women's team at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships this week.
  • First-year Nadjela Wepiwé becomes only the fourth Crimson to school history to compete in the women's discus at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Wepiwé enters the competition ranked 18th with a throw of 54.82m (179' 10"), a collegiate career best set at the NCAA East First Round.
  • The women's discus final takes place at 2:30 p.m. eastern time on Saturday, June 13.
  • A huge showing at the NCAA East First round propelled first-year Dylan McElhinney to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. A native of New York, New York, McElhinney's ran a personal-best 4:10.98 to earn her way to Oregon, as her seed time of 4:11.89 ranks 23rd among the field.
  • The women's 1500m semifinal takes place at 8:21 p.m. eastern time on Thursday, June 11, as the top finishers from each of the two heats and the next two fastest times will advance to Saturday, June 13's women's 1500m final which is set to begin at 8:12 p.m. eastern time.
