EUGENE, Ore. – For the first time in his Crimson tenure, junior
Charlie Ortmans is an All-American, as the Arlington, Virginia native finished in 12
th place in the men's 10,000m with a personal-best time of 28:21.97 at Hayward Field.
The Ivy League champion in the men's 10,000m this season, Ortmans takes All-America Second Team honors after running the fourth-fastest time in school history. Once again, Ortmans finished the race strong, running a split of 1:04.21 across the last 400m to cement his spot in the top 15 in Eugene.
One of Harvard's team captains during the 2025 cross country campaign, Ortmans is now only one of four Crimson to earn All-America honors in the men's 10,000m, joining
Ben Rosa '25, Graham Blanks '25, and
Acer Iverson '24. Ortmans is enjoying a breakout season during the 2025-26 campaign, earning Most Outstanding Men's Track Athlete honors at the 2026 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships. Ortmans will return to Hayward Field on Friday, June 12 at 9:55 p.m. eastern time to run the men's 5000m final.Â

Amari Turner ended a historic and trailblazing season in the event with a strong showing at Hayward Field.
Running in the third lane in the third and final heat of the men's 4x100m relay semifinals, the Crimson quartet combined for a time of 39.35, a mark that ranked 19
th overall and fifth in the third heat. With that result, Esan, Clarke, Horton and Turner all earn All-America honorable mention status in the men's 4x100m relay.
Across the 2026 outdoor season, the men's 4x100m relay accomplished a plethora of significant and historic milestones. At the 2026 NCAA East First Round last month, the group became only the second Ivy League team since 2000 to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the men's 4x100m relay. With a time of 38.90 in Lexington, Kentucky, Harvard became the first school in Ivy League history to run a sub-39.00 men's 4x100m relay.
