CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Carrie Moore, the Kathy Delaney-Smith Head Coach for Harvard Women's Basketball, has been named as one of five finalists for the 2025 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Head Coach of the Year award, Her Hoops Stats announced today.
Moore was previously named to the midseason watch list and has led the Crimson back into the national spotlight in 2024-25. In just her third season in Cambridge, Moore has amassed 57 victories, becoming the fastest coach to 50 wins in program history.
This season, Harvard has surpassed 20 wins for the 14
th time in program history and the second time in three seasons. Moore has brought the Crimson to the pinnacle of defensive success, being one of the top-ranked defenses throughout the season while holding its opponents to 51.6 points per game, forcing 20.8 turnovers per game and totaling 11.0 steals per game. Additionally, Harvard has received votes in the AP Top 25 poll 15 times this season and recorded three wins over power conference opponents, including No. 25 Indiana in the second game of the season.
The award is in its second season and is named after Moore's predecessor, who was at the helm of the Crimson for 40 seasons. Delaney-Smith amassed 630 total victories and 367 Ivy wins, making her the winningest coach in program and conference history.
