Men’s Tennis Sweeps Merrimack in Midweek Match Up

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 16 Harvard men's tennis (16-5, 2-1 Ivy) cruised past in-state foe Merrimack, 7-0, to close out its regular season non-conference slate.

Harvard's domination began early as David Lins and Brick Johnson won at court three, not dropping a single game.  The victory marks the first career doubles win for Johnson.

The Crimson secured the doubles point with another strong 6-2 performance at the top court from Valdemar Pape and Masato Perera

Harvard then went on to win in straight sets on each singles court, securing its fourth sweep of the season.  Elisha Thornton put on an impressive performance, falling in just one game throughout his two sets at court three.

While picking up his second win of the day, Lins ultimately sealed the victory for the Crimson, collecting the fourth point with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at the No. 4 spot.

Another first career victory came on court six as Kareem Ansari defeated Valentin Riveros (Merrimack), 7-5, 6-2.  The win for the senior came in his first dual-match appearance of the season.
