NEW HAVEN, Conn. – No. 16 Harvard men's tennis (18-5, 4-1 Ivy) defeated No. 58 Yale (10-10, 1-4 Ivy), 4-0, to head into the final weekend of the regular season on a four-match win streak.
Harvard, which has been dominant in doubles play this season, began the day by grabbing yet another early 1-0 lead.
Melchior Delloye and
Benjamin Privara struck first at court two with a 6-2 decision. The No. 47 nationally ranked duo of
Daniel Milavsky and
David Lins followed to clinch the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at the top court.
Mitchell Lee tallied his second win of the weekend to collect the first singles victory for the Crimson. The first-year posted an impressive 6-4, 6-3 victory over Aidan Reilly (Yale) at court six.
Melchior Delloye followed shortly after with another straight set win. After taking the first set, Delloye battled through a tiebreaker in the second (7-6(2)) to put Harvard up 3-0.
With his 16
th win of the spring, Milavsky solidified the team victory with a gritty 7-6 (5), 7-5 defeat of Jim Hi (Yale) at the top court.
