CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harmoni Turner of Harvard women's basketball was named the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year, Her Hoops Stats announced this morning.

The senior led the Ivy League with 22.5 points and 2.8 steals while also averaging 5.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in her final season.  The Mansfield, Texas native had one of the greatest seasons in program history led by her sharpshooting, recording a career-best 43.5% from the field and 35.6% from distance.

Turner is the first Ivy League player to earn the honor in the award's six years of existence and adds it to an already long resume which includes Ivy League Player of the Year, ECAC Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Year, and Honorable Mention AP All-America.

Turner leaves Cambridge as arguably one of the best to ever wear the Harvard jersey.  She ends her career second all-time in steals (269) and field goals (756), third in points (2,032) and scoring average (18.5), fourth in three-pointers (188), and sixth in assists (405).

The award was created six years ago and is given to a player that competes in one of the 26 mid-major conferences.  Turner was recognized in every step of the process being named to the preseason watchlist, midseason watch list, a semifinalist, and most recently, one of five finalists.  The honor is named after Becky Hammon who was a three-time All-American at Colorado State and later went on to enjoy an impressive WNBA career.
