Men’s Tennis Set to Face Washington in the NCAA Tournament Round of 64

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 21 Harvard men's tennis is set to begin its sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance against No. 37 Washington on Friday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m. MST/12:00 p.m. ET in Tucson, AZ. 

What to Know

  • Harvard wrapped up its 2025 regular season with a 19-6 overall record and a 5-2 conference record. 
  • The Crimson got back in the win column to close Ivy play, defeating No. 36 Cornell, 4-1 on April 20. 
  • After another strong season, the Crimson were well represented in the Ivy year-end honors, headlined by Benjamin Privara being named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year.  Privara became the ninth student-athlete to win the honor and the first to do so in 20 years.  Additionally, the Borova, Slovakia native received his first All-Ivy honor with an honorable mention nod for singles. 
  • Following a dominant senior season, Daniel Milavsky received unanimous First-Team All-Ivy honors for both singles and doubles.  The Needham, Mass. native went 17-5 in singles action while also tallying a near-perfect 16-2 record alongside doubles partner, David Lins
  • Rohan Murali and Valdemar Pape closed out the All-Ivy honors by both receiving honorable mention nods for singles. 
  • Five Crimson student-athletes have accumulated 15 or more singles wins to help the Crimson total 132 victories across 2024-25 including Murali (16), Masato Perera (16), Melchior Delloye (17), Pape (17), and Milavsky (17). 
  • Delloye has also been dominant in doubles action, leading the Crimson with a 19-9 record across the fall and spring seasons. 
  • Across its 25 matches, Harvard as won the doubles point 18 times to contribute to its yearly total of 63 doubles victories. 
  • In the final ITA rankings prior to the postseason the Crimson checked in at No. 21.  Milavsky and Privara both remained inside the top 100, ranking No. 34 and No. 90, respectively.  Lastly in doubles, Privara and Perera checked in at No. 39 followed by the First-Team All-Ivy duo of Milavsky and Lins at No. 58. 
  • The Crimson is 6-5 in its last five appearances in the NCAA Tournament, having made the Sweet Sixteen in the last two seasons. 
  • In two consecutive tournaments the Crimson has won 4-0 in each of its four first weekend matches most recently beating Boston University and Michigan State in 2024. 
  • Friday's matchup will be the third between the two teams and the first since 2004.  Each team has won a meeting with Harvard winning the first in 1988, 8-1, and the Huskies evening the series in 2004 with a 4-2 victory.
