CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University men's soccer senior goalkeeper
Lucian Wood has earned Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors following the Crimson's shutout of Big East member Providence College, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Wood made seven saves in his first shutout of the season and fifth career clean sheet in Harvard's 2-0 road win against the Friars. He tallied three saves in the first half and four saves in the second half. Wood notched five or more saves for the second straight game and seventh time in his career. He posted seven or more saves in a game for the third time in his career.
Wood captured Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time in his career after also collecting the laurels on Oct. 9, 2023.
Next, Harvard hosts California on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 6:00 p.m. (ESPN+) before playing at Connecticut on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 6:00 p.m. (UConn+).
