CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Heading into its busiest stretch of the season, men's hockey will play three games in four days, beginning with St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Friday and Saturday before a Monday afternoon matchup with Union.
On Friday, the Crimson will honor Coach Donato in a pregame ceremony for breaking the all-time wins record, passing Bill Cleary, his former coach. On Saturday, Harvard will host its mental health awareness game before Youth Day on Monday, which will feature postgame autographs in the concourse.
PUCK DROP
- Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, with the Crimson hosting Union at 4:00 p.m. on MLK Day.
LAST TIME OUT
- Harvard narrowly fell to No. 19 Boston University by a score of 4-1 on Monday.
- Trailing 2-1 before the Terriers added two empty-net goals to extend their lead, the Crimson scored first in the game with Joe Miller netting the opening goal
SERIES HISTORY
- Harvard swept the North Country trip earlier this season for the first time since the 2022-23 season after a 2-1 win over Clarkson and a 4-3 win over St. Lawrence.
- Dating back to 2016, Harvard has only lost to the Skating Saints twice, most recently a 2-0 loss at Appleton in 2023.
- Harvard is 15-2-2 in its last 19 matchups and has only lost once in the last ten meetings.
- Harvard leads the all-time series against St. Lawrence, 69-45-9.
- Clarkson, which has owned the matchup with the Crimson in recent years, comes into the matchup after losing to Harvard earlier this season when a last-minute goal by Casey Severo secured a regulation win for the Crimson.
- Harvard has won two of the last three meetings dating back to the ECAC Quarterfinals last season, but prior to the overtime win in the second round of the playoffs, the Golden Knights had won five straight games.
- Clarkson leads the all-time series against Harvard, 67-63-12.
- It will be the first time this season Harvard has faced Union, which has also won four straight games against the Crimson dating back to 2023.

THREE TWENTY FIVE
- Ted Donato became the winningest coach in program history with his 325th career win on Dec. 3 against Brown.
- Donato is one of just seven active coaches with 325-plus career victories.
- He passed Ralph "Cooney" Weiland for second all-time in program history following last season's opening-round playoff win against RPI.
- Donato ranks 49th all-time in NCAA history in career victories, with only 10 active coaches owning more wins.
INTERNATIONAL CRIM
- Heikki Ruohonen returns after competing in the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championships with the Finnish National Team.
- Ruohonen earned player of the game honors after scoring the game-tying goal against the United States in the quarterfinals.
- Finland finished fourth after falling to Canada in the bronze medal game.
- An alternate captain in his second U20 tournament, Ruohonen posted three goals and six assists in seven games in Minneapolis.
- Across two World Junior tournaments, he recorded 17 points in 14 games.
MAJOR MICK
- Mick Thompson ranks 20th nationally in points per game (1.18) through 15 games this season.
- Dating back to Feb. 14, Thompson is second in the country in points per game with 32 points in 25 games (1.28).
SHORTHANDED SPECIAL
- Mick Thompson and Richard Gallant each scored shorthanded goals against Dartmouth.
- It marked Harvard's first shorthanded goals of the season.
- Dating back to 1947, Harvard has scored two shorthanded goals in a game just four times.
- The last instance came when Ryan Donato and Sean Malone both scored empty-net goals.
- The Crimson also accomplished the feat twice during the 2016 season, including the opener against ASU.
JUMBO JOE MILLER
- Joe Miller has six points over his last six games, beginning with a first-period goal against Yale on Dec. 5.
- Entering Dartmouth on a four-game point streak, Miller recorded two goals and two assists during the stretch.
- Miller also opened the scoring against No. 19 BU on Monday.
CARDIAC CRIMSON
- Harvard scored three unanswered goals in under eight minutes to force overtime against No. 1 Michigan.
- The comeback marked the first time since the 2022–23 season that the Crimson erased a three-goal third-period deficit to tie a game.
THE 729
- The line of Philip Tresca, Casey Severo, and Mick Thompson has been highly productive since forming late last season.
- After coming together in the 25th game of last year, the trio produced 34 points over the final 10 games.
- This season, the line has totaled 41 points through 15 games, giving them 75 points over their last 25 games.
FOURTH LINE GRIND
- The fourth line of Salvatore Guzzo, William Hughes, and Marek Hejduk has been strong all season.
- The trio scored its sixth goal of the year against Princeton and has found the net in six of 15 games.
MICKY THREES
- Mick Thompson recorded the seventh three-point game of his career against Brown.
- Since 2002–03, Thompson ranks eighth among Crimson skaters with multiple three-point games through 40 career contests.
- Those ahead of him include Adam Fox, Casey Dornbach, Sean Malone, Joe Miller, Sean Farrell, Nick Abruzzese, and Tyler Moy.
ROOKIE RESURGENCE
CLUTCH CASEY
- In 2023-24, seven of Casey Severo's eight goals either tied the game, cut the deficit to one, or gave Harvard the lead.
- In 2024-25, 10 of his 16 goals tied the game or gave the Crimson the lead, with two more extending the lead to two.
- Over the past three seasons, 19 of his 31 goals have been go-ahead, game-tying, or deficit-cutting tallies.
ALL HANDS ON DECK
- The 7-3 win over Brown marked the first time this season a Harvard skater scored multiple goals in a game where the Crimson tallied five or more.
