CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track & field is back in action this weekend after the winter break, as the Crimson will host the 2026 iteration of the Beantown Challenge at Gordon Indoor Track.
Action begins at noon as admission to Gordon Indoor Track is free of charge. Crimson fans can stream all the action live on ESPN+.
WHAT TO KNOW:
- Harvard opened the 2025-26 track & field season with three meets last month, as six Crimson set new top 10 marks at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge, the Harvard Classic and the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
- Sophomore Harlow Tong's showing in the 300m at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener highlighted Harvard's opening weekend, as the Saint Paul, Minnesota native set a new school record in the men's 300m with a time of 33.07.
- The school record holder in the men's outdoor 400m, Tong earned Ivy League Men's Athlete of the Week honors as an individual for the first time in his career.
- A two-time All-American selection in the women's indoor 800m, junior Sophia Gorriaran started her third season in Crimson with a stellar performance in the women's mile at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Gorriaran finished in second place with a time of 4:32.94, as that mark leads the nation heading into this weekend.
- In the distance events, first-year Benjamin Bouie and junior Charlie Ortmans own top times in the Ivy League in the early portion of the season. A native of Sunnyvale, California, Bouie leads the Ancient Eight in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:08.43, as Ortmans, one of the Crimson's team captains from the cross country, owns the top mark in the men's 5000m after running a 13:38.05 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
- The Ivy League's reigning women's 60 hurdles champion, senior Fabiola Belibi's time of 8.40 at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge currently leads the conference, as sophomore Ella McRitchie and junior Lilly Hodge are currently tied for first in the Ivy League in the women's pole vault after the pair cleared 4.10m (13'5.25") at the HBCU & Ivy Challenge.
- Seniors Mfoniso Andrew and Jacklynn Okereke, along with junior Alice Mihas are the team captains for the Crimson on the women's team, while seniors Daire Mahon and Jonas Clarke are the men's team captains.
- Jason Saretsky, The William W. "Bill" McCurdy Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, is in his 20th season at the helm of the Crimson track & field and cross country programs.

Harvard ventures outside of Massachusetts for the first time this season next weekend, as the Crimson will feature at the Dr. Sander Scorcher on Friday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 24 in New York, New York.
