CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming off three games in four days at Bright-Landry, men's hockey travels west to take on Colgate and its iconic rival Cornell this weekend as ECAC playoff seeding starts to heat up.
Harvard will play Colgate on Friday before heading to Lynah for a Saturday night matchup.
PUCK DROP
- Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday and will stream live on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
- Harvard won all three games over MLK weekend after outscoring its opponents by a combined score of 11-2.
- Heikki Ruohonen recorded his first career three-point game and his first point since Nov. 22 at Vermont in the 5-1 win over St. Lawrence.
- Will Hughes also recorded his first career multipoint game against the Saints.
- Harvard took all four games from the North Country foes for the first time since the 2022–23 season after defeating Clarkson 2-1 in the second game of the back-to-back.
- Heikki Ruohonen finished the weekend with five points after two goals and three assists in his first ECAC weekend since returning from the World Junior Championships.
- Casey Severo scored another huge goal against the Golden Knights. In the last four games against Clarkson, Severo has three game-winning goals.
- Chase Stefanek recorded his first career goal and multipoint game in the 4-0 win over Union.

- Harvard trails the career series with the Big Red, 71-84-14.
- Harvard fell to Cornell by a score of 3-1 at Bright earlier this season.
- The Crimson leads the all-time series with the Raiders, 62-29-10.

DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
- Mason Langenbrunner was named the ECAC ADAPT Nutrition Defender of the Week after netting his first goal of the season on Friday night against St. Lawrence.
- The first ECAC weekly honor of the season for the Crimson, Langenbrunner scored the second goal of the game against the Saints on his way to a two-point night.
- Entering the game against Clarkson on Saturday night, the senior captain had points in three straight games.
THREE TWENTY FIVE
- Ted Donato became the winningest coach in program history with his 325th career win on Dec. 3 against Brown.
- Donato is one of just seven active coaches with 325-plus career victories.
- He passed Ralph "Cooney" Weiland for second all-time in program history following last season's opening-round playoff win against RPI.
- Donato ranks 49th all-time in NCAA history in career victories, with only 10 active coaches owning more wins.
INTERNATIONAL CRIM
- Heikki Ruohonen returns after competing in the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championships with the Finnish National Team.
- Ruohonen earned Player of the Game honors after scoring the game-tying goal against the United States in the quarterfinals.
- Finland finished fourth after falling to Canada in the bronze medal game.
- An alternate captain in his second U20 tournament, Ruohonen posted three goals and six assists in seven games in Minneapolis.
- Across two World Junior tournaments, he recorded 17 points in 14 games.
MORE MORDY
- Matthew Morden had a career weekend at Bright as part of the three-game sweep.
- Morden became the first Crimson defenseman since Henry Thrun to score a shorthanded goal in the win over St. Lawrence.
- Morden, who has already set a new career high in points, added five points in three games over the weekend.
SHORTHANDED SPECIAL
- Mick Thompson and Richard Gallant each scored shorthanded goals against Dartmouth.
- It marked Harvard's first shorthanded goals of the season.
- Dating back to 1947, Harvard has scored two shorthanded goals in a game just four times.
- The last instance came when Ryan Donato and Sean Malone both scored empty-net goals.
- The Crimson also accomplished the feat twice during the 2016 season, including the opener against ASU.
JUMBO JOE MILLER
- Joe Miller has eight points over his last six games, beginning with a first-period goal against Yale on Dec. 5.
- Entering Dartmouth on a four-game point streak, Miller recorded two goals and two assists during the stretch.
- Miller also opened the scoring against No. 19 BU and Union.
CARDIAC CRIMSON
- Harvard scored three unanswered goals in under eight minutes to force overtime against No. 1 Michigan.
- The comeback marked the first time since the 2022–23 season that the Crimson erased a three-goal third-period deficit to tie a game.
THE 729
- The line of Philip Tresca, Casey Severo, and Mick Thompson has been highly productive since forming late last season.
- After coming together in the 25th game of last year, the trio produced 34 points over the final 10 games.
- This season, the line has totaled 46 points through 18 games, giving them 80 points over their last 28 games.
FOURTH LINE GRIND
- The fourth line of Salvatore Guzzo, William Hughes, and Marek Hejduk has been strong all season.
- The trio scored its eighth goal of the year against Princeton and has found the net in eight of 18 games.
MICKY THREES
- Mick Thompson recorded the seventh three-point game of his career against Brown.
- Since 2002–03, Thompson ranks eighth among Crimson skaters with multiple three-point games through 40 career contests.
- Those ahead of him include Adam Fox, Casey Dornbach, Sean Malone, Joe Miller, Sean Farrell, Nick Abruzzese, and Tyler Moy.

CLUTCH CASEY
- In 2023–24, seven of Casey Severo's eight goals either tied the game, cut the deficit to one, or gave Harvard the lead.
- In 2024–25, 10 of his 16 goals tied the game or gave the Crimson the lead, with two more extending the lead to two.
- Over the past three seasons, 20 of his 32 goals have been go-ahead, game-tying, or deficit-cutting tallies.
ALL HANDS ON DECK
- The 7-3 win over Brown marked the first time this season a Harvard skater scored multiple goals in a game where the Crimson tallied five or more.
