CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard men's and women's ice hockey programs have unveiled a new team recovery suite inside the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Over the past several months, the existing Landry Room has been transformed with state-of-the-art equipment dedicated to student-athlete wellness, recovery, and performance.
The Landry Family recently shared, "We are honored to support Harvard Hockey, a program that means a great deal to our family. We hope that this investment in therapeutic recovery will not only improve performance but will enhance overall wellness."

Located just off the arena concourse, the Landry Room now features advanced recovery technology designed to support player health and optimize physical readiness throughout the college hockey season. The space contains contrast tubs, the latest Hyperice technology including Normatec compression systems, hot and cold therapy options, and a dedicated sports medicine area, all aimed at boosting post-practice and post-game recovery for Harvard's hockey student-athletes.
"Wellness is a top priority as part of our student-athlete experience," stated Erin McDermott, the John D. Nichols '53 Family Director of Athletics. "Support like this from the Landry family is critical to providing enhanced resources toward achieving optimal performance and health. Our ice hockey teams will benefit greatly in an ongoing way from this thoughtful gift.
The Landry Room recovery suite is the latest in a series of upgrades within Bright-Landry focused on enhancing the student-athlete experience. In recent years, both hockey programs have benefited from improvements to strength and conditioning facilities, video analysis rooms, and nutrition areas.
"Harvard's mission is to help our student-athletes succeed on the ice, in the classroom, and beyond," said Ted Donato '91, the Robert D. Ziff '88 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Ice Hockey. "This project reinforces that commitment and ensures our players have the tools they need to perform at their best in every facet of their day. We are so grateful for the Landry family for all they have done to support our players and their mental and physical wellbeing."
The Landry family—the late C. Kevin Landry '66 and his wife, Barrie, and their daughters, Kimberly H. GwinnLandry '93, Ed.M. '01, and Jennifer B. Landry Le '99—have been long-time supporters of Harvard Hockey. In 2008, they established the Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, the second endowed coaching position for a women's sport at Harvard. Their generosity has also supported prior rink improvements, including new refrigeration and dehumidification systems, and the installation of the facility's first high-definition video board.
The expansive 2013–14 renovation of the hockey facility, made possible by the family's lead gift, resulted in the naming of the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. As part of that project, the former lounge became the Landry Room, created with the intent of directly benefiting Harvard students. After recent conversations with coaches and players from both teams, the family determined that reimagining the Landry Room as a dedicated training and recovery space would best support student-athlete wellness and performance.
"Our team is beyond thrilled with the enhancements to the Landry Room," said Laura Bellamy '13, the Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey. "As former Crimson players themselves, I am particularly grateful to Jen and Kim (and entire the Landry family) for their continued generosity to Harvard Hockey over the years."
The Landry Room recovery suite officially opened this fall and is already being utilized by both teams as they enter the heart of their 2025–26 seasons.
