Wrestling Travels to New York for Duals Against No. 22 Cornell, Binghamton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A trip to upstate New York awaits Harvard wrestling this weekend on Saturday, Jan. 24, as the Crimson starts its Ivy League slate against No. 22 Cornell at 2:00 p.m. in Ithaca, New York. Harvard ends the evening at 7:30 p.m. with a nonconference meeting against Binghamton in Vestal, New York. Both dual meets will air live on ESPN+.

What to Know
  • Harvard's last outing saw the Crimson begin dual season in Cedar Falls, Iowa with the National Wrestling Coaches Association Multi-Division National Duals.
  • The Crimson went 2-3 at the NWCA Multi-Division National Duals, earning wins against Campbell and CSU Bakersfield while falling short against No. 8 South Dakota, Northern Illinois and Central Michigan.
  • Juniors Joseph Cangro and Jack Crook were stellar in their bouts at the NWCA Multi-Division Nationals. A 2024 NCAA Qualifier and second team All-Ivy League selection, Crook posted a 4-1 record at 149 pounds, as Cangro posted an identical mark at 165 pounds.
  • In the latest FloWrestling national rankings, senior Jimmy Harrington earned the No. 27 spot in the 157-pound rankings, as the 2025 NCAA Championships qualifier is one of four Ivy League student-athletes included in the top 30.
  • A native of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, Harrington is leading the way for the Crimson in the early portion of the schedule. Harrington owns a 13-4 record heading into Ivy League action, as his 13 victories are a team-high this season.
  • In its tournament slate finale, sophomore Logan Brzozowski took sixth place at 125 pounds to end the 2025 calendar year at the Midlands Championships. First-year Robert Kucharczk took eighth in the 184 pound division as well at the Midlands Championships.
  • Cornell is 3-4 to open the 2025-26 dual season, as two of the Big Reds defeats are against top 15 sides (No. 5 Oklahoma State and No. 13 Northern Iowa at the National Duals Invitational).
  • Binghamton owns a 5-2 record this year in duals, owning a 3-1 mark in EIWA competition.
  • Jay Weiss, The David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling, is in his 32nd season as the leader of the Crimson after beginning his tenure at Harvard in 1994-95.
  • Harrington, Crook and junior Coleman Nogle are the Crimsons team captains this season.

Next Up

Next weekend sees the Crimson compete at the Malkin Athletic Center for the first time this season. Harvard hosts Princeton on Saturday, Jan. 31, followed by a meeting with the University of Pennsylvania on Sunday, Feb. 1. Both dual meets are slated for a 1:00 p.m. start and will air live on ESPN+.
