TORONTO, Ontario – For the eighth consecutive Olympic Games, Harvard will be represented in the women's ice hockey tournament after Emerance Maschmeyer '16 was named to the Team Canada roster. The 28
th appearance by a Crimson women's ice hockey student-athlete in program history, Maschmeyer hopes to help Team Canada capture back-to-back Gold medals at the Games in Milan-Cortina.
A current standout goaltender in the PWHL for the Vancouver Goldeneyes, this will be Maschmeyer's second appearance in an Olympic tournament after competing with the Canadians at the 2022 games in Beijing. She played in two games during the 2022 tournament, posting a 2-0 record and a .957 save percentage in two wins against Russia and Sweden.
A Crimson women's ice hockey legend, Maschmeyer played four seasons for Harvard from 2012-2016 and still stands as the program leader in career saves with 2,538. Her career save percentage of .940 and career GAA are both good for second-best in program history. She won 59 career games at Harvard, leading the team to the 2015 National Championship Game and three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013, '14 and '15.
