Women’s Basketball Meets Yale, Brown for Second Time in Three Weekends

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball (13-8, 6-2 Ivy) will return to the road and face Yale (5-16, 1-7 Ivy) and Brown (13-7, 5-3 Ivy) in a back-to-back for the second time in three weekends.  The Crimson will first head to New Haven to take on the Bulldogs on Friday, February 13 at 6:00 p.m. ET before meeting the Bears in a Valentines Day showdown at 5:00 p.m. ET in Providence. 

The Last Time Out

  • In its last time out the Crimson dominated the Dartmouth Big Green, 75-35.
  • Twelve different Harvard players contributed to the team total of 75 points, marking the most scorers in a single game this season.
  • Aubrey Shaw had a career day with 15 points (5-of-11 FG, 3-of-6 3-PT, 2-for-2 FT).  The first-year also tallied four boards and a block in the contest.
  • Karlee White reached double figures for the seventh straight game as she added 12 points.  The junior also contributed five boards and two steals against the Big Green.
  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello had an all-around performance as she added seven points, three boards, a team-high four assists, and four steals.
  • Harvard's defense forced 24 turnovers and recorded 13 steals.  The Crimson converted for 32 points off turnovers.
  • The Crimson received 40 points from its bench in the contest.
  • The Crimson attacked the offensive glass, pulling down 24 boards and capitalizing for 27 second-chance points.
  • Harvard gave up a season-low 35 points and 10 field goals to the Big Green.  It was the second-largest margin of victory for the Crimson this season.

Stepping into a Leading Role

  • Karlee White and Abigail Wrights have smoothly transitioned into leading roles this season.  The juniors are the top scorers for the Crimson and are each averaging career highs with 13.7 and 13.5 points per game, respectively.  The totals ranks inside the top 10 in the Ivy League.
  • Wright is also the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.5 per game to rank seventh in the Ivy League.  More specifically, the junior forward attacks the offensive glass and is currently the 15th best offensive rebounder in the nation with her 4.0 per game average.
  • Not only is White averaging a career-high but she is also doing so at an incredibly efficient rate, shooting 53.8% from the field.  The percentage ranks as the third best in the conference.
  • Before being sidelined with an injury, the junior guard began the year by scoring in double figures in five of the first six games, matching her entire total of double figure games from her first two seasons.  Since returning, White has added eight more double figure games to her career total.
  • The junior pairing was elected as team captains for the Harvard women's basketball team prior to the start of the 2025-26 season.

Stuffing the Stat Sheet

  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello has consistently provided a presence all over the court during her senior season.
  • Glenn-Bello is averaging a career high in nearly every statistical category by averaging 11.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
  • The senior ranks fourth in the league in blocks (1.2) and 15th in scoring (11.5).
  • After not scoring in double figures in the first four games, Glenn-Bello has now done so in 14 of the last 17 games.
  • After averaging 17.5 points on 54.2% shooting and 77.8% from three, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.5 steals, and the game-tying and winning threes against Brown, Glenn-Bello recorded her first career Ivy League Player of the Week honor.

First Impressions

  • Olivia Jones has made a name for herself in the league already, having been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week a league-best six times. 
  • The first-year received the honor on November 10, December 8, January 6, January 20, January 26, and most recently on February 2. 
  • Jones was named Rookie of the Week after a strong two game stretch where she averaged 3.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals.  Additionally, against the Bulldogs Jones recorded a career high 12 rebounds.   
  • Aubrey Shaw, another new face for the Crimson, earned her first career Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor this past week.
  • Against Dartmouth, Shaw set a new career high for scoring with 15 points while sinking three threes.  The first-year also added four boards and a block in the contest.

The League Standings

  • Through the first six weeks of the Ivy League season, the Crimson sits tied in second in the standings, alongside Columbia, with a 6-2 record.
  • The Crimson and the Lions trail only Princeton who is atop the standings with a 7-1 record. 
  • Brown rounds out the top half of the conference with their 5-3 record.
  • Cornell (3-5), Penn (3-5), Dartmouth (1-7), and Yale (1-7) make up the bottom portion of the current league standings. 

The Season at a Glance

  • The Crimson's season is comprised of 13 non-conference games and its annual 14-game Ivy League slate.
  • The Crimson played five power conference opponents in the first month of action including No. 13 Michigan (Big Ten), Cal (ACC), Boston College (ACC), Alabama (SEC), and Arkansas (SEC).
  • Harvard competed at two prominent tournaments in November, the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational hosted by the University of California and the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassau, The Bahamas.
  • Harvard plays Columbia, Yale, and Brown in Lavietes Pavilion during the first half of the Ivy season followed by Dartmouth, Cornell, Penn, and Princeton during the month of February. 

Harvard-Yale History

  • The Crimson has a 61-37 lead in the all-time series over the Yale Bulldogs.
  • Harvard is currently on a six-game win streak against Yale and is looking to sweep the foe for the third straight season.
  • Earlier this season, Harvard defeated Yale 72-44 in Cambridge.

Harvard-Brown History

  • Harvard leads the all-time series with Brown, 64-34. 
  • Included in its 64 wins is a 20-game win straight over the Bears. 
  • Despite a lopsided last decade in the series, the last two contest have each been decided my three points.
  • Just two weeks ago, the Crimson defeated the Bears in an instant classic, 61-58.  Saniyah Glenn-Bello sank a three as the clock expired to lift Harvard to the victory.
