CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University baseball opens its 2026 season with a three-game series at Tulane University from Feb. 20-22 (ESPN+) at Turchin Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana with the Crimson coming off a season in which it finished as the runner up at the 2025 Ivy League Tournament.

- The series – and Harvard's 2026 season – opens with game one on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT) prior to game two on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 2:00 p.m. ET (1:00 p.m. CT) and game three on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 1:00 p.m. ET (noon CT).
- Harvard's weekend rotation is set to feature RHP Gio Colasante (2025: 2-4, 7.11 ERA) in game one, LHP Luca Alagheband (2025: 0-0, 6.04 ERA) in game two, and RHP Vedant Sharma (First Season in 2026) in game three. Tulane will counter with RHP Trey Cehajic (0-0, 8.10 ERA) in game one, LHP Beau Sampson (0-0, 4.15 ERA) in game two, and RHP Jack Frankel (0-0, 2.25 ERA) in game three.
- Harvard and Tulane have met once all-time with the Crimson taking a 14-11 win on May 23, 1998 at the NCAA South II Regional in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
- The Crimson plays its first 20 games of the season on the road. The stretch starts with four series – at Tulane (Feb. 20-22), at Rice (Feb. 27 to Mar. 1), at Liberty (Mar. 6-8), and at California Baptist (Mar. 13-16) – outside the region. Harvard then plays two Ivy series – at Columbia (Mar. 21-22) and at Cornell (Mar. 28-29) – alongside a road contest at Holy Cross (Mar. 24) to close out the stretch.
- Harvard was selected to finish fourth in the 2026 Ivy League Baseball Preseason Poll. The Crimson totaled 73 points to land in the top half of the eight-team poll. Columbia (118 points, nine first-place votes), Yale (116 points, seven first-place votes), and Penn (100 points) took the poll's top three spots. - Senior infielder/right-handed pitcher Gio Colasante will serve the Crimson as the team's solo captain in 2026. Colasante enjoyed a breakout season in 2025, earning First Team All-Ivy honors as a utility/pitcher and as a first baseman. A member of the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List, Colasante led the Crimson as a hitter in home runs (10), RBIs (33), runs (31), total bases (88), and slugging (.564), while ranking second on the team in average (.314), hits (49), and OBP (.383). As a pitcher, he totaled 36 strikeouts over 31.2 innings and held opponents to a .246 batting average.
- Highlights from the Crimson's schedule include four trips outside the region during non-league play, its first Ivy series at Columbia (Mar. 21-22), its home opener vs. Stonehill (Mar. 31), its first Ivy home series against Brown (Apr. 4-5), The Baseball Beanpot, the final home series of the regular season vs. Penn (Apr. 25-26), and a hopeful berth in the four-team Ivy League Tournament (May 15-18).
- Harvard earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for the ninth straight year for its achievements in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year.
- After the 2025 season, Harvard notched a pair of MLB Draft picks for the third straight season as right-hander Truman Pauley went to the New York Mets in the 12th round with the 373rd overall pick while right-hander Callan Fang was picked by the Minnesota Twins in the 13th round with the 389th overall selection.
- In 2025, the Crimson earned a spot in the Ivy League Tournament and finished as the tournament's runner-up.
