PRINCETON, N.J. - Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving finished the four-day 2026 Ivy League Championships in third place, earning 1,137.5 points behind Yale (1,274.5) and Ivy League Champion Princeton (1,474). The Crimson finished ahead of Columbia (901.5), Cornell (841), Brown (805), Dartmouth (694), and Penn (677.5).
The Crimson fought until the end, winning two Ivy titles on the final day, but ultimately fell short as the Tigers captured the championship for the second consecutive year.
Prelims Highlights
- Adriano Arioti kicked off the final day for the Crimson with a season-best swim in the 200 back prelims, posting the top prelims time of 1:40.37. The mark now stands as the second-fastest time in Harvard program history.
- In the 100 Free prelims, David Greeley (42.99) and Sonny Wang (43.04) each recorded season-best swims to clinch A-final spots. Marre Gattnar (43.12), Will Browne (43.18), and Maro Miknic (43.62) also notched season bests to qualify for the B-final, while Evan Croley posted a season-best 43.71 to earn a C-final berth.
- Joshua Chen secured an A-final berth in the 200 Breast with a season-best 1:54.99. Eric Lee added a season-best 1:57.94 to qualify for the B-final.
- David Schmitt closed out the morning session by breaking the DeNunzio Pool record in the 200 Fly with a 1:40.87, the top prelim time. Ognjen Pilipovic (1:45.05), Felipe Baffico (1:46.07), and Richard Poplawski (1:47.01, season best) advanced to the C-final.
Finals Highlights
- William Mulgrew dominated the 1650 free, shattering the Ivy League and Harvard program records with a time of 14:26.79. With the third-fastest time in the nation, Mulgrew will represent the Crimson at NCAAs. Pablo Martinez claimed bronze in the event with a 14:56.43.
- Arioti continued a Harvard winning streak, capturing the 200 back Ivy League title with a time of 1:39.60 and earning a spot at the NCAA Championships.
- In the 100 free A-final, Wang (43.07) placed seventh while Greeley (43.17) finished eighth. Browne and Gattnar went one-two in the B-final, and Croley (43.81) placed third in the C-final.
- Joshua Chen posted another season-best time of 1:54.48 to finish fourth in the 200 breast A-final. In the B-final, Eric Lee placed sixth with a 1:58.92.
- In the 200 fly A-final, Schmitt earned silver with a runner-up time of 1:41.06. Baffico (1:45.65) finished third, while Pilipovic (1:46.82) and Poplawski (1:47.18) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the C-final.
- In the three-meter diving A-final, Rem Turatbekov placed seventh with 307.15 points.
- The Crimson quartet of Wang, Gattnar, Browne, and Greeley closed out the Championships on the podium, posting a season-best 2:51.37 in the 400 Free Relay.
