Jones Named Unanimous Ivy League Rookie of the Year; White and Wright Earn First Career All-Ivy Nods

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball earned a handful of All-Ivy year-end honors headlined by Olivia Jones being named the unanimous Ivy League Rookie of the Year. The captain duo of Karlee White and Abigail Wright capped off breakout junior seasons with a unanimous First Team All-Ivy and a Second Team All-Ivy selection, respectively. Katie Krupa rounded out the honors with her second selection to the Academic All-Ivy team.

Olivia Jones – Unanimous Rookie of the Year

Jones has wasted no time making a name for herself in the Ivy League as she is one of eight players in conference history to win nine Rookie of the Week honors and was the unanimous choice for Rookie of the Year. The Pennsylvania native was a consistent, steady presence for the Crimson throughout the season, averaging 5.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. The first-year appeared in 24 games and stepped into a starting spot in the final 12 contests of the season. Jones scored in double figures six times this season, led the team in rebounding in seven games, and dished out the most assists six times.

Some of Jones' numbers rank not only as the best in the first-year class but the entirety of the conference. In the league, she ranks first in assist/turnover ratio (1.8) and 10th in rebounds, assists, and steals.

With her ninth weekly honor earned just a day ago, Jones joined Crimson legends Allison Feaster '98 and Temi Fagbenle '15 as the only Harvard players to win at least nine Rookie of the Week's. She is the eighth Rookie of the Year in program history and sixth to do so by unanimous selection.

Karlee White – Unanimous First Team All-Ivy

White elevated her game in every aspect this season, averaging a team-best 15.4 points on 55.5% shooting from the field and 46.7% from three, 5.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 2.0 steals. The California native is one of seven players in the conference since 2009-10 to improve scoring by 10.0 points per game from one season to the next. Just a season ago, White was averaging 5.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.0 steals. After only scoring in double figures five times in her first two seasons, White did so 19 times this year including in the last 13 contests. The junior co-captain led the Crimson in scoring nine times and rebounding four times.

While stepping into a leading role for Harvard, White cemented herself as a new superstar in the Ivy League. The Harvard guard ranks first in the conference for field goal percentage, fourth in steals, fifth in scoring, and 15th in rebounding. In the nation, White is one of 16 players averaging over 15.4 points per game at a rate of at least 55.5% shooting.

This is White's first All-Ivy nod of her career and throughout the season she earned her first two Ivy League Player of the Week awards. She is the 22nd First Team All-Ivy honoree in program history.

Abigail Wright – Second Team All-Ivy

Wright stepped into a starring role for the Crimson this season, averaging 13.5 points on 45.7% shooting, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. The junior captain more than doubled her production last season where she averaged 5.4 points and 3.0 rebounds while averaging 13.5 minutes per game. The Massachusetts native also averages 3.7 offensive rebounds per game, ranking as the second-best average in the league. Her total of 99 o-boards this year ranks seventh in program history for a single season.

In the conference, Wright ranks seventh in the league for scoring and rebounding and has the 12th best field goal percentage. Nationally, Wright's offensive rebounding average ranks 27th.

Wright joins her fellow co-captain in receiving her first All-Ivy nod with her Second Team selection this season.
