CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Both Matthew Morden and Mick Thompson earned All-Ivy League honors, the league announced today. Morden was named to the First Team, while Thompson landed on the Second Team. Philip Tresca was also named the team's Academic All-Ivy recipient.
Against Ivy League opponents, both Morden and Thompson tallied seven points in 10 games this season. Morden added a goal and six assists, while Thompson recorded three goals and four assists.
The only Crimson skater selected to the All-ECAC Team as well, Morden had a career season on the Crimson blue line. A reliable defenseman on both ends of the ice, Morden added four goals and 14 assists throughout the regular season. Tripling his point total from his sophomore year, Morden recorded points in consecutive games six different times this season.
Last season's Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Thompson led the Crimson in points for the second consecutive season. Adding nine goals and 18 assists to date, Thompson scored the game-winning goal in overtime to advance to the ECAC quarterfinals this weekend.
Tresca earned the first All-Ivy accolade of his career with the academic honors today. Through 27 games this season, the Newton native has eight goals and 11 assists.
