Wozniak Inducted into USA Fencing Hall of Fame

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Harvard fencing assistant coach Dagmara Wozniak has been inducted into the USA Fencing Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026.

Wozniak, who joined the Crimson coaching staff ahead of the 2021-22 season, has helped guide Harvard through one of the most successful stretches in program history. During the 2023-24 campaign, Wozniak helped lead the Crimson to the NCAA Fencing National Championship, bringing the national title back to Cambridge for the first time since 2006. That season, four Harvard saber fencers qualified for the NCAA Championships, while Wozniak also mentored Zoe Kim to the 2024 Ivy League women's saber championship.

Wozniak has also played a key role in Harvard's Ivy League and NCAA success across both the men's and women's programs. In 2022-23, the Crimson men and women each finished fourth at the NCAA Championships, with Harvard qualifying 14 fencers for the national meet. Individually, Wozniak helped guide Elizabeth Tartakovsky '23 and Filip Dolegiewicz '23 to individual NCAA national titles in 2021-22.

The Harvard women continued their rise in 2024-25, winning the program's first outright Ivy League Championship since 2009. The Crimson coaching staff, including Wozniak, was named Ivy League Women's Fencing Coaching Staff of the Year after Harvard went 6-0 at the Ivy League Championships.

A decorated saber fencer on the international stage, Wozniak represented Team USA at the London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She earned an Olympic bronze medal in women's team saber at the 2016 Rio Games and spent 17 years competing for USA Fencing on the international circuit from the cadet level all the way up to the senior level. Throughout her career, Wozniak earned multiple World Cup and Pan American medals, was an individual Pan American champion and a team champion, and was a two-time member of a world champion fencing team.

Wozniak continues to shape the next generation of American saber fencers beyond Cambridge, currently serving as Team USA's Women's Saber National Coach.

A four-time All-American at St. John's, Wozniak finished third at the NCAA Championships twice before graduating in 2013. She was inducted into the St. John's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.

Wozniak was inducted in the athlete category as part of USA Fencing's Class of 2026, which was honored at the 2026 U.S. Fencing Hall of Fame Dinner in Portland, Oregon.
