NEWTON, Mass.—Chelsey Feole scored five
goals to lead No. 9 Boston College to a 9-1 win against the Harvard
field hockey team Wednesday night at the Newton Campus Field Hockey
Complex. Junior Chloe Keating scored for the Crimson, and freshman
Cynthia Tassopoulos made 10 saves.
The Eagles took the lead just before the 10-minute mark, as Chelsey
Feole put a shot on Tassopoulos from the right side, got to her own
rebound and slid it home. Courtney Tavener scored less than a
minute later, scoring from the left side following a pass across
the circle from Emily Koznuik. Feole's second goal, also from
Koznuik, made it 3-0, after barely another minute.
Tavener drove into the circle and passed to Feole on the right to
finish off the fourth BC goal at 25:28. Janna Anctil looked to add
another BC goal later in the half, but Harvard sophomore Pilar
Mayora scurried toward the left post to make her team-leading
fourth defensive save. Jacqui Moorfield and Jessica Roberts scored
on penalty corners to give the Eagles a 6-0 halftime lead.
Following three BC goals in the second half, Keating got Harvard on
the board about 20 minutes into the period. Sophomore Georgia
McGillivray took the insertion from senior Elizabeth Goodman-Bacon
and sent the ball toward Keating in a crowd in front of the cage.
The junior redirected it past BC goalie Nicole Barry.
