COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the first time in Harvard field hockey program history, a Crimson is the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's Division I National Scholar-Athlete, as senior midfielder and team captain
Kitty Chapple earns the honor after a stellar season on the pitch and in the classroom.
The NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete program honors the All-America First Team selection with the highest cumulative grade point average. A native of Somerset, England, Chapple is also the first student-athlete in Ivy League history to earn the honor.
A staple in the Crimson's midfield for the last four seasons, Chapple left her mark on Harvard field hockey. Only one of five All-America First Team selections in program history, Chapple started in all 77 games of her Crimson career, ending her time in Cambridge with eight goals, 19 assists and 35 points. Chapple also earned All-Ivy League honors four times and was a three-time NFHCA Northeast All-Region selection.
Academically, Chapple was also superb. Chapple earned NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honors four times, an award that recognizes student-athletes with a cumulative 3.9 GPA or higher at the end of the season.
Chapple led the Crimson back to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals for just the second time in program history with a 19-2 record in 2025, as Harvard completed the first perfect regular season in Ivy League history and set the school record for most wins in a single season.
