Tilly Butterworth and first-year
Evie Smith will represent England at the 2026 EuroHockey U21 Championships.
One of Harvard's captains for the upcoming 2026 season, Butterworth was a key fixture for a Crimson side that won an Ivy League regular season title and advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Starting in all 21 contests last year, Butterworth tallied career-bests in goals (5) and points (1), earning National Field Hockey Coaches Association Northeast All-Region Second Team honors.
One of five incoming first-years for the 2026 season, Smith has already made a name for herself in the England set up as a dynamic goal scoring threat. The 2025/26 season saw Smith lead her club, Holcombe Hockey, in goal scoring, as Smith was also the top goal scorer for HC Knole Park during the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns. Previously, Smith represented England at the EuroHockey U18 Championships.
Butterworth and Smith start the 2026 EuroHockey U21 Championships with a match against Scotland on Sunday, July 26
th, followed by pool contests against the Netherlands and Spain.
