NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – The Harvard women
had three runners finish in the top 50 at the ECAC Championships to
lead the Crimson to a ninth-place finish. On the men's side,
three runners placed in the top 65 to lead Harvard to a 13th-place
finish at the IC4A Championships. Both races were held at Van
Cortlandt Park.
Sammy Silva was the first Crimson to cross the finish line in the
women's race . She was 20th overall with a time of 17:58.5.
Junior captain Jamie Olson finished one place behind her with a
time of 17:59.3. Sophomore Jeanne Macke was third for the Crimson
and 42nd overall. She clocked in at 18:21.3. Freshman Stephanie
Barnett and Kirsten Jorgensen rounded out the Crimson scoring in
74th and 91st place overall.
Junior Ryan Neely was the top Harvard runner in the 8k race. He
finished 48th overall with a time of 26:32.0. Sophomore Ben
Entowitz and Michael Hoffman finished second and third for the
Crimson and 53rd and 62nd overall, respectively. Entowitz crossed
the finish line in 26:35.7, while Hoffman did it in 26:44.5.
Freshmen Jakob Lindaas and Sean Poherence rounded out the scoring
in 75th and 107th overall.
Three Harvard runners will compete at the NCAA Championships
Monday morning in Terre Haute, Ind. Sophomore Kailyn Kuzmuk and
junior Claire Richardson will compete in the women's race,
while junior Daniel Chenoweth will race on the men's
side.
