Series History
B.C. holds a 33-10 advantage in the all-time series. Last
season, Harvard came away with its first victory in 10 years
against the Eagles with an 82-70 victory in the Crimson's
first-ever win against a nationally-ranked program (BC was 17th).
The game was played just days after BC had knocked
off then-number-one-ranked and eventual national champion North
Carolina.
The Last Meeting
Jeremy Lin dominated play as Harvard stunned 17th-ranked
Boston College, 82-70.
Lin recorded game-highs of 27 points, eight
assists, six steals and two blocked shots to go along with three
rebounds. Lin was 11-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the line
while holding B.C. star Tyrese Rice to three points until the final
four minutes of play.
Oliver McNally played a heady game off the bench at
the point and finished with the game's second-highest scoring
figure with 17 points thanks to a 10-of-11 mark from the throw
line.
After falling behind 5-0 and 7-2, Harvard grabbed a
19-17 lead with 7:32 to play in the first half. The Crimson never
looked back as the visitors shot 61 percent from the floor in the
second half (14-for-23) to win going away.
Harvard's Last Time
Out
No. 14/13 UConn got all it could handle Sunday afternoon
as the Huskies needed a big free throw shooting day to down the
Harvard Crimson, 79-73, at Gampel Pavilion.
Jeremy Lin tied a career-high with 30 points in a
dazzling effort while adding nine rebounds and game-highs of three
steals and two blocks to go with three assists. He made seven
straight shots at one point, finishing 11-for-18 from the floor
despite not scoring for the first 16:12 of the game - during which
he had all three of his assists.
Harvard was within five or fewer points on eight
occasions, including 67-62 with three minutes to play and 77-73 in
the final minute only to be turned away by UConn, which made
22-of-30 free throws in the second half.
BC's Last Time Out
Sophomore Reggie Jackson tallied 18 points and nine
rebounds and junior Corey Raji totaled 17 points and nine rebounds
to lead Boston College to a 61-60 Atlantic Coast Conference win
over Miami on Sunday.
Jackson scored the Eagles' last four points to snap
a 57-57 tie and give the home team the victory. The sophomore
scored off an offensive rebound with 1:47 to play and then, after
Miami missed on three-point attempts on its next two possessions,
Jackson sank two free throws with 2.3 seconds left to give BC a
four-point cushion.
Harvard Coach Tommy
Amaker
Tommy Amaker (Duke '87) begins his third season as head
coach of the Harvard men's basketball team. He registered his 200th
career coaching victory Nov. 13 in the 2009-10 season opener at
Holy Cross.
He brings a 205-176 career head coaching record
into the game, including a 109-83 record at Michigan at a 68-55
record at Seton Hall.
Amaker came to Harvard after a six year stint as
Michigan's head coach. Inheriting a program that was reeling from
institutional and NCAA sanctions, he led the Wolverines to the
postseason three times, winning the 2004 NIT title, reaching the
championship game of the 2006 NIT, and advancing to the second
round of the 2007 tournament. The 2006-07 season was Michigan's
second straight 20-win campaign and its third in four years. The
Wolverines were ranked as high as No. 20 in the nation during the
2005-06 season.

best start to a season (6-1) in 25 years since going 8-0 to start
the 1984-85 season.
Harvard's 8-0 start in 1984-85 included two
victories over D. II programs and one victory over a D. III
program. The next best start came in 1957-58 when the team started
